So there was an Alone In the Dark for the PS2, shown here:

and it looks an awful lot like the cover of Alone In the Dark: Inferno for the PS3, shown here:

i have played a little of the PS2 version, and was wondering, is there a difference between Alone In the Dark (PS2) and Alone In the Dark: Inferno (PS3)?

I heard they Inferno made the game easier, they added more crafting weapons, theres a mission where you needed to get all of the roots to open something, In Inferno, you just need 32 roots i think...thats all I know

Inferno is a redone version of the PS2 game optimized for PS3 from what I know but I'm not entirely sure. Better graphics and controls, possibly redone voice acting.

Haven't played any of them but a quick look at Wikipedia

The PS2/Wii version of Alone in the Dark is a completely different game from the PS3/X360 version. Though both have a similar plot, it has largely different levels, removing all the freeroaming from the other versions.
