Looks like Appledomination, not Nintendomination. Wuf wuf wuf wuf wuf. It's worthwhile to note that this Nielsen graph showing the most-wanted tech gadgets for kids age 6 - 12 in the US is titled "Interest in Buying in the Next 6 Months." That's probably an incorrect assertion, since we haven't seen any 8-year-olds working the late shift at McDonald's recently. It should be titled, "Interest in Having Someone Buy This For Me in the Next 6 Months."
Kids' holiday wishlists are dominated by the iPad, snagging the top spot from 48 percent of respondents age 6 - 12. Right behind that is the Wii U, with 39 percent. More iDevices complete the top five, though Kinect has 31 percent, and 3DS/3DS XL and other DS models grab 29 and 28 percent, respectively. PS3 comes in with 26 percent, followed by the Xbox 360 with 25 percent. Strangely enough, 18 percent of kids want a PSP, while just 14 percent would take the Vita.
In a separate study of people 13 and older, the iPad remains king with 21 percent, making the split more even across all devices. Wii U is fourth in this group with 17 percent, while the PS3 gets 8 percent and the Xbox 360 7 percent. The Vita surpasses the PSP, 4 percent compared with 3 percent.

Total Awards: 5Doesn't surprise me. Apple is particularly good at brain-washing those that are my age and younger. :/

a computer would be a better choice
force feed them SNES/NES/N64/etc. emulators, 90s Hits, Indie games, and GOG.com Games. Show them the Gaming Golden age before it went to todays bullshit so they don't fall into the stupid child gamer category of "Only caring about graphics and shooting things" and instead fall into the "Good Gamer kid" category where they give everything equal judgement and not giving any fucks about graphics.

the most suprising thing on that list is that there's a actual percentage of kids that actually want a playstation move.

Doesn't surprise me much seeing how popular Apple products are these days. Hell, I might need an Ipod to keep me entertained at work. LOL

i have a 3 yr old son and i cant get my iphone away from him.i am actually thinking about getting an ipod for christmas him.he is better at fruit ninja and temple run than i am.he loves playing mario bros on the 3ds and gets extremely pissed when he gets stuck on a level,he normally would ask me to help him past the tough parts but now he has started using videos on the iphone app i have to learn how to beat the levels,i never showed him the app or searched the video for him he figures it out on his own, kids are scary smart.i probably wont get him an ipod though, might get him a nabi, just need to look into whether or not it is any good.

with the shitty launch that wii u has been having i wouldn't be surprised if the wii u falls deeper on that list. then again the age market targeted in this study doesn't really pay attention to stuff like that so it could actually rise for all i know lol.

I'm not a kid, but i'll take an iPad over a Wii U. Now the rest of this list is absurd, but yeah.

Total Awards: 11Ridiculous really. Kids need to get out and play and exercise rather than mess around on an ipad all day...or video games for that matter, lol.
I really have no room to talk though

I would take an iPad over a Wii-U simply because I would turn around and sell it, and the iPad is worth more (maybe not in areas with a WiiU shortage). Can't say I'm interested in either of them though.
Also, kids probably know it's the most expensive 'fad' product out there, so they're simply attracted to it by knowing it's expensive as hell and can show it off to their peers.

Total Awards: 8Man back in the day it was NES, PC, Genesis and SNES in that order. Now it's the iPad. It's what kids want doesn't mean their parents can afford it. Still scary seeing iPad on top.
