    BF3 - What's up with the Sound?

First off, why the hell can't a Mute people?! It does my head in
When I click "toggle mute" it does absolutely nothing.

And is it just me or does the sound cut out during matches? Like you might be able to hear 1 sound but everything else is silent?

It kind of ruins the game, especially because it does sound awesome when it's all working...

You can mute people. I've done it several time before.

As far as the sound going away every once and a while. I don't know why it does that but I've experienced this also

I'm sure you can, but for some reason it doesn't work for me

I had to mute people the other night. It took it a minute, but it worked. Also, it depends on whether or not they have squad for the whole team selected for VOIP, so you may be hearing other people to.

I also believe the most recent update was supposed to address the audio issue, but it still happens to me and its friggin annoying.

Yeah, I've had some really loud kids on my squad once and tried to mute them, but nothing happened. It just showed a microphone with 2 dots, but I could still hear the little shits. I've also had the sound cut out a lot. It used to happen a lot when BF3 first came out, stopped and now it has been happening again. You can always join another squad if you have someone annoying though.

I use an Astro Gaming MixAmp with my headphones. It has separate channels for in-game audio and voice chat.

I turn voice chat down, which shifts the audio balance to game audio and never have to deal with mutants talking crap in any game.

I've also experienced the surrounding sound muting out on me, and the only thing I can hear are the occasional jets flying by and me firing. This usually happens on the map Caspian Border after long periods where I haven't been in much action.

I have the feeling it only happens on certain maps. Not sure which ones, but there are maps where I never had any trouble with the sound (so far)
    Anyone else feels that too?

Its pretty annoying to have the audio bug make all the sound cut out. As others above had said, the recent update was supposed to get rid of it but I've still been experiencing it as of late. I didn't buy a Tritton gaming headset just for the game to cut its game audio out lol

And as for voice chat (or VOIP), yes, you can mute people. It might take a couple of seconds or so for it to kick into effect (especially if the person you're muting is in your squad) but it works, trust me. It works though best when muting people that are in different squads. I can just turn down voice chat volume on my headset though, so no biggie

i thought it was just my tv, i had problems before with sound in other games, but i guess it is the game. its weird. sometimes it would cut all the sound, sometimes just the noise of a jeep/tank engine. sometimes just a gunfire. DICE need to come up with a patch for this

Is it me or has the audio bug been happening more often? And its been cutting off for longer periods too... hmmmm... seems the patch did more worse than good Hopefully DICE can fix it ASAP.
