Battlefield 3 Single Player Campaign is Only 6-7 Hours Long

According to the guy that played the pirated version of Battlefield 3, the single player campaign is at 6-7 hours long.
Is it long? Well, for a title like Battlefield, itís long enough. Assuming the guy played it on normal difficulty, 7 hours long is pretty decent. Iíll most likely play the game on the hardest difficulty to have some challenge.
As far as how the story goes, the guy seems to enjoy it, mentioning that ďthe story is actually very entertaining. For the first time in years a FPS has a story that is quite simple to follow and enjoy. You donít understand the motives behind the main villains actions, but that doesnít stop you from enjoying the events in the game. Its also unlike your typical US-made shooter in which the US military is invincible. You get to see your comrades get killed and their tanks/airplanes destroyed, like in a real war.Ē
Well, by judging the way he praise about Battlefield 3, the story seems to be much better than the Call of Duty series where it feels all arcadey.
Check back with us this week for our review of Battlefield 3. Stay tuned.
It looks like a decent amount of time for a war type of game like Battlefield, though I have always liked the battlefield storylines, how to forget the ending of Battlefield Bad Company 1 , Discuss

I have a feeling he was playing on Hard ... I do really hope they are right when they explain the Military in the game. (Yes I'm Merican)

    Wow, what a disappointment.

I don't understand how people could be happy about 6-7 hours...

to me length of the story isnt all that important. quality is much more important. its quality that makes you want to play thru the story countless times. not the length of the story. and from what ive seen the quality of bf3 looks preety high.

I agree, quality is much better than quantity but come on, 6-7 hours? That just sucks.

You will be getting into the story and really enjoying it...then it will be over :stare:

Sounds longer than what CoD will probably be.

They are happy with it because they are getting used to games being even shorter.

for an fps thats pretty good lol, lots of games fall around that time range, such as god of war series, and others of course (thats just the first to pop into my head). just like cod games, the main focus is MP really, most of your time will be spent there, and most of the replay value is there too.

And that's what happens when you buy battlefield. A game created for multiplayer.

6-7 hours of singleplayer is 6-7 hours more than what I need from this game. Not disputing how sick the singleplayer portion will be.

Don't get me wrong, I know MP is where it's at for most people and I know that's where the replay value is...
But when the SP looks as good as it does I feel that 6-7 just doesn't cut it, maybe I had too high hopes for it.

Yea that's unfortunate, but it is pretty good for an FPS game I guess. Games today are so short, even other type of games like Mafia II and inFAMOUS for example.

I every intention on putting a couple of hundred hours into the multiplayer so 6 - 7 hours in singleplayer is fine. I expect the 6 - 7 hours to be quality too

I know what you mean and I feel the same, but remember that some of the best singleplayer campaigns in FPS games were 6-8 hours long (Half-Life series, CoD4, etc).

Sometime you will get a game that is good, but has alot of bullshit nonsense tossed in just to add length.

resistance 3 was a short but quality campaign, therefore the length of the campaign was not even a big deal to me.

The quality of Battlefield 3, looks great and the storyline will be great. Its just one of those things you know, will be awesome. =p

Oh yeah definitely, they were excellent!

Maybe it was just my fault for thinking the story was a huge part of the game so they would step it up a notch and make it a decent length.
And I know people are happy with it and think it is decent but I don't any more. It's just a rent.
