    Would it be wrong?

Now that I have my preorder would it be wrong if I entered my Preorder dlc code from GameStop and then returned the game? I mentioned this to my friends a few weeks ago and they both thought it would be. My reason behind wanting to do this is simple: I have a bunch of games to play already on my backlog and while I do want to experience the adventure of darksiders II I don't see a point In just letting sixty bucks rest on the shelf for an indeterminate amount of time. If I enter the code and return it I get free dlc (saves me a fee bucks in the future) and I could save even more money in the future when I buy the game used. I'm on the fence about what I should do and I'd really like to hear some folks opinions.

Thanks to Thunder for the platbar!!!

So you want to preorder it.. use the code.. send it back without playing it.. :stare: dafuq?!

Or maybe you could rent it then buy the dlc and save more money

    Yes, it's wrong. :stare:

People who take advantage of stuff is why honest people get privileges taking away from them. (Take Sony and the OtherOS for example).

Edit: I come off as a bit of **** in the above i think. I'm in no way judging you, just sharing my opinion

so is the DLC a preorder bonus? if so then i would say your fine.

back in the day when they used to actually give away cool shit when you preordered (not just some extra missions or skins or some shit) i would put 5 dollars down for the preorder, take whatever schwag they were giving away for the preorder, the go into gamestop a week later, say i didnt want that game anymore, and put my 5 dollars down on something else, and get more awesome schwag

This. I, for example, preordered LittleBigPlanet and God of War III and some others at like, three or four different retailers to get all of the unique 'gifts', and then I'd always buy it at the local store instead of GameStop or Target or whatever. As jenkem says, the best part is that most stores will keep your $5 credit in your account, so for each store want to do this with you only ever have to put your deposit down once - unless of course you actually buy a game there.

Some stores still give you the physical gifts at time of pre-order (I know GameStop did this recently with the Ghost Recon bandanas and most of their posters, for example), but especially with DLC gifts this really isn't a common practice anymore.

Great, seems that some people are actually proud of themselves taking advantage of such situation.

If you don't want the game to be just another position on your backlog list - why buy it at all? Wait a little and buy it for half of the original price. I'm quite sure that all DLC's will be available for purchase for everyone.

The DLC besides the Death Rides pack is going to be released for money, but they gave it to you for free because they appreciate the loyal customers who pre-order it. Not for those who want to take advantage.

I wouldnt do it, to me its stealing.
