what happened to my hud

Well since there have been 33 views and no responses I guess no one else has had this issue. It is quite frustrating and I did find a few people on line at a friends house that talked about visiting Prichard to get it fixed. This would mean it's part of the game. However I did go to Prichard at the beginning of the game. When Adam actually states that he's having a problem with his optic implant. So if that's what they were talking about then it's not the same thing.
I have lost the radar, my sights for weapons, including the zoom on scopes for the dart riffel and sniper riffel and the reticle for the stun gun and all other weapons. The only way to aim is with lazer sighted weapons. Even the little white dot that used to annoy me at the beginning of the game is gone. SOMETIMES my destination shows up on the map sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes my subtitles work sometimes not.
I went through the end of the FIRST China segment, then went to Canada, then Finally back to Detroit, but of course I couldn't get to Prichard because the building is closed for the riot. Then I did a side mission and then the Covention Center. Finally Prichard says to take the hellicopter to the Sarif building, and I'm like FINALLY. Too bad as soon as I get there I'm told he's not there. So now I'm about to go BACK to China and STILL can't get the damn thing fixed.
Does anyone know if this is a part of the game or if it is a glitch? Please let me know if you can.
I started over and it's working fine but I'm only in the first mission, the manufacturing plant, and I was in China when it happened the first time so it will be a while before I find out if I wasted my time or not.

Check your options. You might have turned it off.

I did two runs through the game and never had anything like this happen, aside from the story-related visual hiccups early on. Like zz suggested, check your options. It may not have even been you that changed it, maybe the game glitched the options. If you can't find anything on your original game, then just keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again. Hope it all works out for you.
PS> A thought that just occurred to me. You could try going into the "Save Data" for the game from the XMB, and deleting the "preferences/options" save data. This won't affect your save games, but it should basically force a "return to default" for the options. Depending on what happened, I'd say there's a slight chance (like, less than 1%, but you wouldn't really lose anything by doing this) that it could work, but I think it's worth a shot.

Thanks. I never thought of checking since I know I never changed the options. At the very least now I know it is some kind of glitch so I don't have to hire a hit man for the guy that came up with that idea
if it had been intentional. (just kidding of course they are way to expensive
).

I couldn't find anyting in options for turning on or off the HUD. I did take your suggestion about deleting the user options file but it didn't fix it. I am going to my boy friends house tonight and am going to check for updates on his wifi. Hopefuly that will fix it. If not I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again.
Thanks for your suggestions. Nice of you to help

How bad is it, gamebreaking or minor annoyance? Can you make a short video?

I have no way to upload a video. My internet options are highly limmited. However I found a few people by googling it that actually liked the glitch. Most had played through 3 or more times and it only happened once. They found it "more challanging" Since it happened on my FIRST play through, and I was trying to use my tranq. gun on most foes it was extreemly anoying. Understand, no radar, no sights, most of the time your destination does show on the map but only if your in the right area. When you use the "zoom" on your scoped weapons it just bring it in closer no scope sight. It was very hard to actually hit any one from any kind of distance at all. Even with the stun gun I would have to litteraly sneak up behind a guard and zap them. So if your trying not to kill then it's going to pretty much stop you from ever being undetected if there is more than one or two gaurds.
The lazer sights DO work so if you don't mind killing you can use the 45 or machine pistol if you have the upgrades for them. Other wise no way to aim except point and shoot. It was anoying enough to ME that I deleted that game after I figgured out that I couldn't fix it.
Most people evidently never ran into this issue. One person in this thread said they played through 3 times and never had this issue. I did upload the latest patch before the delete and it didn't fix it either. I sent an email to customer support. I got a form letter type response replyed that they had NOT helped resolve the issue. I have tried 6 times and they will not respond to me. If the games weren't so fun I'd never buy another from them but since they are I probably will.

Hm, yeah at that point I guess it would be better to start over. More experienced this time means you know where to find stuff, and what not to do.
