    What's your party structure?

After constantly getting my arse handed to me on the battle field (on my way to find the girl from my village), I decided to take a break and get some ideas of what party structure some of you have been using.

My Arisen is a fighter and my main pawn is a mage. Up 'til now, I have been employing a strider and another mage. I tried to swap out the second mage for another fighter, but I found that I missed the safety net of an extra mage to heal my party. However, since I'm having issues, I find that this may not be the best company.

What kind of a party have you been leading?

I just got the game and what I'm going to try is have my Arisen be a Strider, Pawn a Mage and the two guest Pawns will be Fighters. My Mage will lay back casting with the two fighters taking all the heat up front and me picking enemies off with my bow and occasionally going with my daggers, or to climb a boss.

At the moment my Arisen is a Fighter, my main Pawn is a Strider (and I good one at that), then I have another Fighter and a Mage.

Seems like a fairly strong party so far

My party. Perhaps you got further in the game and need to reassign some skills or buy new ones and vocations . Also, making sure you get updated support pawns from the Rift will help. I liked my main two ones I was using until got too high and had to let them go and reassing their spots. Got to keep one as the creator leveled them somewhat to match my level at the time, but the other didn't so they were still 4 in the Rift.

My Arisen is a female Mage character. My main pawn is a female strider. My other two pawns are female fighters. Yeah i know what your thinking and yes, my party is a little bit 'out there' but hey, so far my party seems to be handling enemies well.

Main - FighterMain Pawn - Mage with healing and weapon enhancementsPawn 2 - Mage with healing and attack spellPawn 3 - Archer I tend to use cymbol crash to draw all enemy attention to me. This does a couple of things.- Enemies bunch up and go for me- They stay off my pawns so they can complete spells - I can hit multiple targets with single attacks and save stamina- pawn AOE attacks spells/arrow will hit more enemies if they are all in a bunch trying to kill me

I just changed my Arisen's vocation to Sorcerer. This game feels overwhelming at the moment because there is so much to explore and so many quests to do.

That's similar to what I've been doing. Lure them to me and then take them out while my pawns help melee them OR snipe away and casts spells at distance. .

    Thinking on this strucuture
Me: Assassin(Fighter currently again, changed from Mystic Knight but don't want to lose armor)
    Main Pawn-Sylvanas: Ranger
    Veronica: Warrior/Fighter Pawn
    Scarletwitch: Mage/Sorceress type lol.

    For me Ive been doing

Me - Magicka Archer (Just recently, before ive been Strider/Assassin)
    Main Pawn (Athena) - Ranger

Then for the other 2 pawns I try go Warrior/Mage that way 1 can be a tank for the party and the other one can heal...

You ESPECIALLY need a mage that has healing powers for escort missions.. or else the NPC your escorting dies so easily unless you have items in your inventory that affects the party as a whole, not just you.

I just got back from a family trip for the holiday weekend. It seems like everyone is so far ahead of me! LOL.

So far, I have been having good luck with my main character being a fighter with my main pawn being a mage. My two other pawns are a warrior and a strider. I haven't changed vocations yet. I don't know what i"m waiting for. I think I will look into it when I get to the top of my current vocations.

quick question, does your main pawn get access to all vocations? because when i look at his list i only have six options instead of nine

Nope, they only can be a basic or advanced vocation. Hybrids are Arisen only.

My party combo is very well-rounded, and I counted only a few deaths (mine) so far:

    - Me (Mystic Knight)
    - Edmund (Warrior - Main pawn, Key inclinations: Scather, Challenger)
    - Ranger (Key inclinations: Utilitarian, Scather. Key skills: Dazzle Blast, Hundred Kisses, Advanced Trigger)
    - Healing Mage (Key inclinations: Medicant, Guardian. Key skills: Fire, Ice, Lightning, High Anodyne, High Halidom, High Spellscreen)

Together, we kick everyone's ass literally. Just you wait, Ur-Dragon! I am already down there looking for you now. ^o^

PS: My Edmund warrior pawn is such a damage-breaker, at 1200+ Str; you got to love Cyclops Sigil (two-handed weapon).

How can you view a pawns key inclinations?

You can view your main pawn's, and other pawns', inclinations (primary and secondary) under Status -> Profile Tab. When recruiting two online pawns, you can check their inclinations in Details, then R1 to the Profile Tab. =3

PS: An important tip - buy the inclination elixir(s) that you want to use from the Rift Store in the Encampment. Use 3 in a row to change your main pawn's primary inclination to that new one. Use 1 only to change your main pawn's secondary inclination to that new one.

Primary inclinations do not change over time, except when using the elixirs as above. Secondary inclinations stay the same or change over time depending on your and the party's behaviors, as well as their inclinations.
