You could always recruit stronger pawns. Other than that, I'll give you some typical RPG advice: level up!

as a mage stay away from enemies, i realize they seem to target you but stay alert and out of harms way, let your pawns take the brunt of the damage while you heal and buff them

If you insist on the Mage class then hire strong pawns that cover your weaknesses.
Once you have a team your satisfied with I would go fight the Drake over and over.
It gives you hella exp. plus you can dragon forge your items.

I went with the archer classes and got all the bonus abilities I could to make my character as strong as possible.
Once I got to level 100. I was stronger without my pawns. So I started merc'n Dragons by myself.(Thats a rewarding feeling)
Keep in mind that for every level when you rank up you get stat increases. But for every character class those bonuses are different.
So you need to know what you want to be and work towards that until level 100. Cause they nerf stat increases after 100.

Good luck to you on getting your .

I know exactly what mission your speaking of. And all you have to do is just run strait back up to the entrance.
Make sure that you have the spiral walkway open all the way up to make sure you can make a speedy exit.
Good luck and you can VM me with any other things you get frustrated with.
(I have the platinum on this game and loved it.)
Good luck to you on (slaying) those dragons.

Did I rushed the game or use a certain decent guide walkthrough or get the official guide?

Why does this game keep going when I get a game over screen or does track it how many times.

My only suggestion to you would be to get a guide, online or the official.

Should I play this game offline?

I'm not sure I want to start the game over.

Not sure why you would play this game offline?
You need internet to recruit other peoples pawns.
It doesn't hurt anything to play online as far as I know.
Other than the Ur-Dragon fight which you shouldn't even attempt until you feel like a boss in game.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have the official guide and thinking about doing a warrior build and not sure it's the best or use a fighter build.
