Would they have started off just like everyone else will or have some awesome weapons at the start? 2 hours seems really crazy!

I like my games when the story mode is long. This says the opposite :/

True, but if the story is awful, why should we spend hours upon hours in it?

Then maybe instead of creating a huge, probably full of bugs and glitches world, they should concentrate on making a rewarding story instead of just a shoehorned in one.

Should I be disappointed by this news? Well, my inner self tells me to still take a look once it comes out; no game is as short as a CoD campaign, no? Meanwhile, my other RPG self is screaming for me to take a first peek into the Elder Scrolls series, so there is a (two-party) consensus after all!

    I'm really dissapointed :/
I wish that the game will be the 200-300 hours that Bethesda announced :/
I made some RPGs in 2D, and even me, that I created them, took me around 25-30 hours to finish them... so... this seems pretty bad :/
I'm just replaying Oblivion, and I wish that at least, Skyrim will be as good as oblivion, not just another game made to get money for how was the old games of that saga x.x

But this is a speed run which means he pretty much ran though it and most likely fought as little as possible. it will take much longer than 2 hours for normal people to beat it, so I don't see why we should worry.

I'm actually not to bothered by this at all. The main story in pretty much all of Bethesda's games are short. Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout: NV. If you just do the main story missions and the mandatory side quest to get you further in the story. You can beat everyone of those games in 2 hours. Give or take.
When about 80% of the game are side quests and just walking to get to them. You really can't expect a 10+ hour long Main Story. Bethesda has never made the main story their main priority. It's always been about doing what you want, side quests out the ass, and in TES case. Back story upon back story. They probably spent more time writing the Books in Skyrim. Than they did writing the actual story.

This is fine with me the only bad part about this news is that enemies probably scale with your level like in their other games which I don't like. What is the point to leveling if the enemies grow with you? Sure, you get cooler abilities and weapons but I like being able to go back to the early stages of a rpg and crushing what hindered me before or finally being able to fight that one boss that troubled me.

He was only level 4 when he beat the game, so the enemies were weaker.

did the devs ever do speed runs for 100% game complete?
Fallout 3 or Oblivion for example, either plat for Fallout 3 or the 1000 points for 360 Oblivion.
just curious if they did what there time was, i did FO3,FNV Plat both in 5 days, but only because playing first on 360.

& if Oblivions main story speed run is little over an hour & Skyrim's a little over two, well thats good news from non devs opinion.

I preffer an open world with more side quests than main history line, than a longer history without side quests

It seems a lot of people don't understand exactly what a speed run is. All this demonstrates is how open Bethesda's games are, you don't need to be a certain level, have certain weapons/items, complete certain side quests etc. to unlock the next part of the main quest. Everything is available to you, the main quest accounts for about 5% of what is available in an Elder Scrolls game.

So people complaining about the game being too short have obviously never played Elder Scrolls or Fallout 3 and wouldn't know how these games are made. All I have to say is to people that have never played any of those games and are interested in Skyrim, do NOT let this news affect your judgement. Todd Howard hosts these speed runs right before the release of these type of games and times like this are what the developers achieve each time. The same guy who won this, completed Oblivion in about 1 hour and I remember one of the developers finishing Fallout 3 in roughly an hour as well. Some people, .

Summary: These speed runs are a tradition for Bethesda and Skyrim is still going to contain around 300 hours worth of content. This is nothing but good news, it took a developer longer to finish Skyrim than it did any other game.
