To me it looks like you'd enjoy Dark Tranquillity, they're one of my favourite bands of all time, they have some amazing albums. Have a look at they're "The Gallery" album, but pretty much all of their albums have got great material.
Also another one is Skyfire, I'll send you a few of their songs that I'd think you like.
Most of their songs are amazing anyway, these are just a few I can think of right now.
Check out Be'lakor's stuff, some good ones are
Anyway good luck on expanding your metal collection, Enjoy!

Old School Sepultura.

First and foremost Between the Buried and Me, they're the best metal band going right now in my opinion.
-Bleeding Through
-Times of Grace (or anything with Jessie Leach. Old KSE, Empire Shall Fall, Seemless)
-August Burns Red
-All That Remains
-Mastodon
Then of course the classics like Sabbath, Maiden, the Big 4...... but I assume those are already covered.

^ pointed out the bands that I can recommend something on. Enjoy
Well that's about it from the top of my head, I can't be arsed to think about specific bands right now. However here's some more that you may or may not enjoy, but not based on your list above:
Also, (I'm not sure of most of the other bands on your list, I never heard of them, but) if here you would tell anyone that trivium or cradle of filth are metal - you would probably get your teeth punched in. People are really passionate about what you label is what.
Anyhoo, hope I was of help. Toodles.

Elitist attitude? One form of metal?
You got a lot to learn. No metalhead would ever tell you that there is only one form of metal that is metal. However, a lot will tell you that "nu-metal", "metalcore" and "alternative metal" are just a marketing move, and stick out like a sore thumb from the rest of the scene. Now I'm not saying their music is "bad" "good" or whatever, it can be all of that or none of that, however, one thing it's not - is metal. A lot of it, as I said, is just marketing, in the 80's it was hair metal that was selling, while thrash and speed were stagnated by it, then it died but thrash lives on! I don't wanna get deeper in to it, (pretty sure no one here gives a fuck anyway) just letting you know.
And to your "one form of metal" here are some sub-genres that I listen to:
Heavy Metal
Thrash Metal
Brutal / Technical / Progressive / Melodic / Death Metal
Folk Metal
Pagan Metal
Melodic / Black Metal
Doom Metal
Death 'n' Roll
Grindcore
Power Metal
and all the mix of genres like Doom-Black and Death-Black and what not.

Well, my favorite newer bands are All That Remains (which BennysGoHome already mentioned) and Killswitch Engage, but my personal favorite hands down is Judas Priest, which I 1000% Recommend

I don't consider myself a metal head at all, so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. But try Therion. Not sure how "metal" they actually are, but I like them a lot.

Two words; Machine Head, they are epic.
And also listen to Pantera especially their albums Vulgar Display Of Power and The Great Southern Trendkill which are their best albums IMO.

Total Awards: 8Soon there will be a BrutalEpicMoshCore Genre created. Seriously, labels are stupid and irrelevant. If it is one of these types of Metal, it is just Metal. No need to get heated (Not saying you specifically, Doom Horror) over technicalities. I just get irritated when people get too concerned about what type of metal they listen to.
