"This save is broken"

So, I've just started to play this game, and luckily haven't got that far yet.

I tried to load my game today, and the message "This save is broken" (Or something along those lines), was shown.

Is there anyway that I can get this save back or should I just start all over again?

If you aren't that far in I would just say restart. It it broken, so i'm not sure if you can get it back.

I never seen that but like Schism was saying if your not far just start over but this time save sooner and quit to try and reload to see if it says the same thing

Thanks guys. Apparently this game doesn't autosave often, so should I save after everything I do (I.E. Skinning an animal etc)?
