Final Fantasy XIII-2 Bonus Download Content

    Serah's Weapon DLC
Square Enix has promised post-release download content for Final Fantasy XIII-2, but it has yet to provide specific examples. Today, we got some hints as Square Enix announced the download content that will be given to those who buy the game at select shops.

Pre-order FFXIII-2 from Lawsons or HMV, and you'll get a download code for a weapon for Serah. The weapon is an angel's bow and arrow that converts the damage it deals to enemies into an HP boost for Serah.

    Noel's Weapon DLC
HMV and Lawsons buyers get a special weapon for Serah when they pre-order Final Fantasy XIII-2. But Square Enix isn't leaving Noel fans out. Those who buy the game through the Square Enix e-Shop will get a special weapon for the XIII-2 newcomer.

The weapon is named "Calamity Blade." This exclusive Noel weapon is a twin blade that can recharge Noel's ATB gauge quicker than usual.

According to the product listing page at the -Store site, the weapon will show its effect from the start of the game midway through the adventure You're going to have to figure out what this means for yourself (perhaps by the game's midpoint, Noel becomes too powerful for the weapon to be of any use?).

As with the previously announced bonus download content, the e-Shop did not provide an image of the Calamity Blade weapon, but promised a look in a future update.

Yeah it did spring to mind instantly

I mean I know every weapon has bonus's and you upgrade them (well you did in 13) but I'm just wondering if the ones on these might make it a little east...we will have to wait and see I suppose

Angel's bow could be pretty OP if it gave a regen effect after every successful hit along with whatever the % is in HP boost, but there again that'll be capped with damage and knowing SE the hardcap would be something like 5%~10% of an enemies max HP would be converted to boost HP.. so doubt if that would make a huge difference though this is speculation and I have no idea of the games mechanics.

Noel's weapon just sounds like a perma haste boost.

Yeah you are most likely right there Kupo, I think it will all be fine because I'm pretty sure there will be weapons much better and if you don't get it at the very beginning that would be much better

I have to agree with what Kupo said.

and btw this is a bit off topic. the Japanese site of FFXIII-2 just got updated. The Novels and Report part.
I wanna start a thread about this but I dunno what they are talking about because it's in Japanese. unless someone gets to translate this FINALFANTASYXIII-2 | SQUARE ENIX

Y'know thinking about it more, it don't really mention if that effect would proc 100% of the time.. Oh well, thinking on it abit too much and thats beside the point. But I really doubt SE would make something thats absurdly OP throughout the entire game.

Since it looks like SE will be going down the DLC path... I hope they make decent content and not just toss out random weapons with minor effects or start making costumes and little crap like that and put a questionable price tag on it.. I would love to see them come out with full blown out expansions, but that might be asking to much of them >_>

Yup, first single player FF game anyway. FFXI had abunch of expansions but I don't think most FF fans would class XI on the same level as the rest of the games, being an MMO an all.

I have to admit the DLC isn't looking all that essential at the moment. Plus i would prefer to earn or find weapons in the game rather than get weapons from DLC.

If there is I highly doubt it would include DLC weapons.. that would just be a dick move by SE to hoard more money from it's fan base if so.
