Moderate. I've played games that fall into the very easy and easy categories and FFXIII-2 doesn't fall into those categories. It's an average plat. A lot easier than FFXIII and you don't have to have the top weapons or level up your characters the right way to defeat the toughest enemies. Can be done easy enough. The length of time you have to invest can be a pain if your like me. Working as well as other things that take up your time. But it did take me only 70-80 hours to plat so it's not too bad. Just over half the time FFXIII took me. I tend to play the games instead of focusing on the platinum so I reckon it can be platinumed in about 15-20 hours less. Maybe more.

I would say moderate, only because of the time needed to plat (took me 63 hours). Overall those 63 hours were awesome, never once was I bored (barring the 3 hours I spent on the lucky coin fragment and another 1 hour for the clock stopper trophy). It's good that there's a difficulty setting for the battles, it really reduced the need to grind for players who are not so skilled in battle like me. I hope any future FF titles that SE makes will have around the same difficulty level for a platinum trophy.

Total Awards: 6I voted easy as well. There really wasn't anything particularly challenging in the game. I was hoping for the post game stuff to be harder than it was, as I think XIII was just a harder game overall. The only trophy I really had to go out of my way to get was 10k steps on a chocobo, but it's not like that was difficult. Just had to buy a green and run in circles for a bit. The 100% exploration and full beastiary was probably the most grind, but nothing too bad especially since you can use the fragment skills to get the rare monsters much easier.

I platted this game a few days ago, but it doesn't show when I updated trophies ><
I voted a 2 for this:
The fights are pretty easy even in normal mode
There's no CP grinding if you don't run away from every fight
The hardest things for plat would be collecting all 160 fragments and fighting every single enemy

i'll go with easy on this game - only hard part was gettting the beastiary fragment and one paradox ending was a pain for me - but overall it was easy

Def not easier then easy, and not harder then moderate, falls somewhat in between. A lot of trophies are just plain easy as well that come auto. I played everything on Normal as well. Only fighting every monster was annoying. And had some minor trouble with 1 Paradox ending. Money is a complete joke in this game. I ended up with roughly a mil without even trying, I think it will be handy for some new casino dlc.. In the end I would say Easy.

Easy, easy, easy Plat. Finished around the 50-hour mark today and I'd say of the trophies, only Clock Stopper and the Lucky Coin fragment were obnoxious. Managed to get the former in less than a half hour (it was my final trophy) but Good Lord did it feel like it took all day, and nothing else felt like that. I was dreading Raspatil (saved him for last in my Bestiary grind) but that was an absolute joke, too.

I voted moderate. I don't get why so many people voted easy. Easy to me is a game that can be beaten in 10 hours or so with little to no difficulty. This is an 80-100 hour plat with a lot of collecting (and without a guide it would be hard to find everything) and a lot of grinding.

2 - Easy
This one was actually easier than FFXIII, the hardest thing was Fragment Collecting, which includes 100% Locating/Hunting mini Quest and the infamous Lucky Coin lol

Without a doubt one of the easiest FF games i have ever played. I gave this a moderate rating as some grinding is required but overall straight forward Platinum.

Im about a quarter of the way through the game and I have yet to get 5 stars on any of the battles that the trophy requires. Do you know if the DLC is worth getting and would that help??

I went with easy. Little grind for all the fragments but nothing crazy like FF13. It was a great game, and what a great guide our site has to offer. Well done.

I voted moderate, I'm sure if you did the whole game on Easy mode it would be easier. But that would kind of kill the challenge.

2 Easy A few of the final bosses were a pain but my biggest gripe was how boring some of the side quests were. This game will take some serious time to complete but for a Final Fantasy fan that comes with the territory.

I'm close to getting the platinum on this, and it won't be many hours until I do.
There are some annoying trophies, Serendipitous being one of the more prominent ones. But, a few thousand coins to start with, a slot machine on a hot summer's day and some tape on the L1 button, just wait a bit and you'll have it. I put it on, then played Rift for about an hour or so, returned to find I had gained 14k in that time period (went from 20kish to 34kish).
There's also the Clock Stopper trophy. It would be incredibly easy if it counted every battle instead of consecutive battles, as it stands it is just more annoying than hard.
Also missing the 5star trophy for Atlas and Bahamut, but I was underleveled for both fights. First time I fought Bahamut I had fought for almost 22 minutes when I finally killed it. It broke the stagger gauge either just after it had staggered it, or right before. Will be easy now, especially with lv 13 Amodar (Commando), lv 13 Lightning (Ravager) and lv 50ish Green Chocobo.
Big Game Hunter was much much easier than I had anticipated. Did it after I had defeated the last boss, 4 roles maxed, last 2 half full each. Didn't have an issue, went in with the regular paradigms and facerolled.
Also got the "do 99999 damage on a single attack" on the Long Gui with Noel.
Of the trophies I have remaining, it's to get all fragments (159/160, missing the Bestiary), defeat Rasputin (or wtfever it's name is, the Ci'eth in Oerba 400AF), and 2x 5star trophies plus the Clock Stopper.
---------------------
If the Ci'eth fight doesn't pose much issues, I'll rate this game an Easy.
It doesn't take that long. I'm clocked in at 64 hours at the moment, and I've been afk for about 10 or so.
Neither of the trophies are particularly hard, just annoying. Especially Serendipitous and Clock Stopper.

72 hours, 34 mins and I've got my Platinum.
Not hard at all, though as I said before, some trophies are annoying.
It's not like XIII. I'm still contemplating if I'll be arsed going for the Platinum on that.

Total Awards: 6Voted EASY
The game was easy, only 1 or 2 fights I had to re-do. It was a grind at the end finding all the enemies, and collecting all the fragments, but nothing too difficult.
-
12-23-2012 #40I voted moderate, simply because of the 'Fair Fighter' trophy. Difficulty was really not up to par with previous Final Fantasy installments; game length was rather short as well for an installment.
