The good thing about the PC version is that there's a texture map update for it...

Yes I have just realised the platinum is more time consuming than I initially thought. It's the "Pure Gold" Trophy for 30 Gold Stat awards that will take the most time

Great review, Sleeping Dogs is definitely around a solid 9 out of 10. I platinum'd this game in one go (though over several days) and it took a while (lots of collectibles and such), but at no point did it become an annoying slog. There are certainly a few rough areas to this game, but the story and characters, and especially the gameplay and immersive world are just so good that it's easy to forgive them. Loved the ending part of the story arc (last few missions or so).

I don't expect a sequel, as I heard this game didn't sell crazy well

, but it would certainly be a day 1 buy for me if they do make one.

Nice review, Sir Kerwan! I bought the game on my birthday and I gotta say that your review really sounded my thoughts. Definitely one of the best of this year that deserved more attention than it got.

Yeah, so many people didn't buy the game for some reason. Such a disappointment.

I am sorry, but this game does not deserve anything better than a 6 out of 10. The gameplay was rather generic, and the characters were flat. It was way too easy. Only plus side is its a 20 hour platinum at most. It didn't sell well and there is a reason. Remember folks, this is simply my opinion. If you get the chance to pick it up for $20 or under, go for it. Otherwise, don't waste your money.

People saying this game didn't sell that well...

Sleeping Dogs was the best selling game in the United Kingdom in the week of its release, becoming the fifth-best first week sales of 2012.[101] It retained the top spot during its second week, despite sales dropping by 15%.[102] It returned to the top spot after four weeks on sale.[103]Sleeping Dogs sales rose by 8%, despite five weeks on the chart, defeating new release Tekken Tag Tournament 2.[104]According to NPD Group, Sleeping Dogs was the sixth-best selling game in the U.S. in August 2012,[105] at 172,000 copies.[106] PC sales for Sleeping Dogs were unable to be counted, as it is only available digitally in the U.S.[107]
According to Square Enix, Sleeping Dogs shipped 1.5 million copies through the end of September 2012.[108]

Think it did pretty damn well myself.

Anyway, this game is brilliant so far. The story gameplay is fun and interesting enough with mission variety. The combat isn't too hard nor too easy. And it's good to play a GTA style game, for once, not set in America, or an American like setting...

Well regardless of sales the game was good. Call of Duty sells millions of copies on day one alone, and look at the "quality" of the game.
And yeah, I agree on the setting. It was awesome.

For me trophies have become an integral part of gaming, like a stereo in a car. Is it really necessary? No. Is it a lot more fun with it though? Hell yeah!

Call of Duty is fine IMO, it's just that the majority of the community is so immature, part of the reason 3/4 of the time I play Call of Duty I play the campaign (except BO because that campaign was horrible).

Was able to snatch this game during Black Friday deals, and it's such an amazing game! I totally agree with this review now that I have it.
