Megaman 10 Forum / Megaman 10 Trophy Guide

Overview
Megaman, if you don't know who he is already, you must have been living in a rock for the past 24 years. And if you really haven't heard of him before, now you have, so be happy. Megaman 10 has decided to follow upon the success of Megaman 9, meaning it's gone back to it's 8 bit roots. Get ready for a great experience. And by the way, no this isn't Megaman X.

Gameplay
If you've played any of the old Megaman games you'll know what this is like. You start the game, go to the stage selection, and then transverse the stage all the way to the robot master. Once you defeat the robot master, you take their power and go onto another stage. A robot master always has a weakness, and that's one of the most fun parts of the game, going through and finding out the weaknesses of the bosses through trial and error, usually you can tell who is weak against what, such as Pump Man, and sometimes it's not so obvious.

It's a platforming game at heart, so expect to put your skills to the test. Stage design was pretty good for the game, with many levels allowing you to be creative with the obstacles. The Checkpoints in this game are stationed usually just after a mini boss and right before the Robot Master chamber. They look like red circles with a white fan on them. Another thing is that the game gives you not one but two characters for the game. Once you select the new game option, you have the choice of either playing as Megaman or Protoman, each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Megaman can have three shots on the screen at a time while Protoman can only have two, while Protoman can charge shots and Megaman can't. So it's up to you to decide who you would rather play as.

Singleplayer
Roll returns home one day not feeling great, claiming she has a fever, suddenly she collapses and Doctor Light suspects that she has Roboenza, a virus that only affects robots. Roboenza spreads throughout the world, making robots malfunction. Without the use of robots the (lazy) humans are unable to do simple tasks, and without robot assistance they are unable to develop a proper cure for the virus.

A month later, everything gets worse, The infected robots go violent and attempt to take over the world! Later at Megamans house, a ship crashes containing Doctor Wily! His story this time is that an infected robot went crazy and attacked him. He'd spent the last few days studying the Roboenza. He states that even he was unable to create a cure for the virus, and instead created a machine that would help him find the key to developing the cure, but it was conveniently stolen by one of the infected robots. He tells you that you need to go kill the robots and then you will be able to get his machine back. As Megaman goes off to defeat the 8 robot masters, a familiar tune plays, and suddenly Protoman appears. He thinks that you may not be able to do this alone, so he accompanies you. And that's when the game starts, the Singleplayer can be done in an hour, so it's a bit on the short side, but that was probably the most fun filled hour of my life.

Technical
Megaman 10 is to put it simply, FREAKING AMAZING, trust me on this.
The graphics are 8-bit as you can tell by playing the first 10 minutes of the game. Seeing how Megaman 10 is supposed to be like an NES game, it nails that down pretty well. No complaints for the graphics.

The NES quality music does its job well, providing a wide array of tunes.
A favorite of mine is Blade Man's stage. Sound effects are also like any other Megaman game. Whether it's the plinking of the Megabuster, or the sound of the health bar filling up, it's always nice to hear. No complaints over here as well.

Trophies
The trophies here are interesting, on one hand you have some that are pretty easy to manage such as - Whomp Wily, where all you have to do is beat the game. And others which take a bit of effort such as -Invincible, while some are just down right insane - Mr.Perfect, Where you have to clear the whole entire game without taking any damage!

Gameplay: 9/10

Singleplayer: 8/10

Technical: 9/10

Overall: 9/10 Brilliant

Probably my favorite PSN title, EVER, It's just an amazing game. If you don't like this game you MUST be crazy. Go buy it now!!
