I always turn on the subs, heck it's a minus if they are not there. It's much easier for me to understand whats going on when I can read. There might be explosions and stuff so I cant hear!!!

Yes. Some accents are troublesome to understand at times, or sometimes they talk too softly and I'm not quick enough to torn up the volume, and other times I simply can't hear shit.

I always use subs when they are available, as I don't really care for the voicing in videogames, and after all this time still feel text based conversations in games was good enough. That being said games don't really have a non voicing option available anymore (unless the sound is turned off) so if given the choice between voices I will always choose the japanese vocal track (I understand enough of the language to have played many an import back on the SNES and PS1) as the quality of the voiceacting tends to be higher than the english dub imo , when both are present.

All the time. Because voice actors are mumblers.

Yes. Whenever they are available. I ussualy don't have the TV loud enough and if it is a game with a lot of action going on then yes I need them on.

Sometimes, in RPG games only.
It's often quicker to read than listen to NPCs drone on and on and on...

Never play without them if its an option. I can never hear the people talking in almost anygame I swear and if you turn it up and theres a gunshot or SFX in the game it will blow your dam speakers out lol but still can barely hear the people talk!! drives me nuts.

Total Awards: 10Not really, I find subtitles annoying.
Even though I can understand what's been said, and there's a cool scene going on... my eyes go to the subtitles and a read them anyway

Total Awards: 6I do most of the time because sometimes the characters mumble and I have no idea what they are saying.

Subtitles for me are super important, either for some words I didn't understand or for when I need to lower my volume to the point that I can barely hear the game

I do I feel that they help when there are a lot of explosions or sfx going off while characters are talking

Yeah, it's nice in case I'm having a deaf moment or when my wife is in bed. I'll usually turn them off for 2nd playthroughs though.

Total Awards: 10Always subtitles when an option. I actually get irked when there isn't an option in a game for them. I find it easier to follow and helps articulate things better, especially when the voice acting/accents/general pronunciation is dreadful.
It's also fun for me to pick out the misspelling and grammatical errors that occur in subtitles. You'd think that they would be rare, but nope, I'd say 95% of games bastardize the language at one point or another.
