Hey guys you should already know the drill by now.The same thread was up before the site 'crashed' (or whatever happened). I'll try to keep this thread updated but if I miss any names, hit me up via PM/VM.
I will start with Wargazsem.
This song means a lot to me, really hits home and brings back great times I had over seas as some things I won't or can't ever erase from my dreams.

Paternal Grandfather - Fought on the Eastern front of Europe (primarily against the Russian army) during WWII for the German army (he was a sniper / rifleman). He did a couple behind enemy line operations for collecting intel and surveillance. Did trench warfare. He was shot in the butt, bayoneted down the nose, and suffered shrapnel blast from an anti-tank gun that led to right eye blindness). He served in a firing squad for a German soldier who was convicted of a crime. And he was captured by the US and was a POW until the war ended, I think this was when he was released from the hospital for his shrapnel injury and was returning home.
Maternal Grandfather - Served in the Navy for the United States during WWII.
My maternal Grandfather passed 10 years before I was born, but I don't think he was involved in direct conflict. He was a water tender for the ship he was on, I believe. My paternal Grandfather I got to talk to a lot about WWII, and his unique perspective that many people don't hear about (being a soldier for Germany). Many great stories and am proud of him and the courage he had in such a deadly war and what he went through.
