terrible Anti-virus maker makes internet security app for Vita

Trend Micro offers internet security for Vita - Shacknews.com - Video Game News, Trailers, Game Videos, and Files

Trend Micro is extending its internet security services to Sony's next handheld, the PS Vita. Originally available on the PSP and PS3, Trend Micro is offering two for-pay services designed to make the Vita's built-in internet browser a safer place to be. "Trend Micro Kids Safety" will filter sites unsafe for young eyes to see, while "Trend Micro Web Security" will block access to fraudulent and other "unsafe" websites.

Each service can be purchased individually for $19.99 a year, or bundled for $34.99 a year. Each Vita comes with a 90-day free trial, in case you want a test drive. Unfortunately, Trend Micro licenses activated for PS3 and PSP will not be transferable to the Vita.

Purchasing a subscription will take some jumps. You'll need to access the Trend Micro website, purchase a license, and then enter the information manually on the Vita browser. For more information, check out this step-by-step guide.

    Um... Isn't it obvious?

You pay Trend Micro money for a service that just locks down your browser.

Nobody is going to buy it, but from Trend Micro's perspective this is a 0 risk business venture.

I don't really care either way, I continue to back the boycott of TM.

Also, is there truly a good anti-virus software package out there? You said the same thing about Norton, but most of them are the same flavor of garbage.

AVG isn't much better, I use McAfee, but only because I don't have to pay for it. Still though, same basic problems Norton has.

I agree, I finally switched yesterday. I can already tell it's better than any other AV I've used.

I've heard (multiple times) ESET NOD32 is THE BEST AV out there, but until then I'm happy with Comodo.

You don't shy away from bringing up hacks less recent than this... Whats wrong with what iChris said?

And yeah, but I still come back to its just as bad as most of the other ones.

Anti-virus software, anymore, is like cars. You have a few bad brands, and then everybody else is pretty much the same. Comodo isn't particularly special, atleast not enough for me to say its really "the best."
