The First Uncharted Abyss DLC - A Cheat guide!

Excavate the UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss Treasure Map Pack This Wednesday – PlayStation Blog

The DLC will be available through SEN tomorrow. The DLC is treasure maps that show you where all the treasures are in every level. These maps are not unlockables in the game and buying them as DLC is the only way to get them. Each level will have a separate DLC map. Pricing wasn't announced. Also, using the maps will not disable Trophies. You will still be able to earn all the Trophies even if you buy this DLC so you won't be punished for using them.

Not very smart, considering that there'll be guides all over the internet for getting the treasures, and people would rather use those than pay for them.

well you have to think, they have these types of maps(probably not as nice) in strategy guides. so of course it has to be sold.

I see this as nothing but a cheap ploy for a few extra bucks, nothing more. Nothing inherently wrong with it in my eyes, as such information is available on the net, for free. To each his/her own, I guess.

So you're not okay with a developer releasing 36 maps as DLC for $1, when they add absolutely nothing to the game and if you don't buy it there are zero consequences, but when Valve releases a diamond ring item for TF2 that is equally useless for $100 you're completely okay with that? Doesn't make much sense to me.

They told the community it's useless and didn't bullshit them.

It's ring-shaped, it's gift-wrapped, it's basically useless, and it's really expensive ($100!). In short, it's the most accurate simulation of an actual Valentine's Day gift ever made available to the public.
so yea, im ok with that.

(also you can use it in-game as a wearable item and the only people who lose are people who spend the money.)

So why are you okay with Valve doing it? I don't understand why it's okay for one company to release a completely useless item for $100 but when another company releases a completely useless DLC for $1 it's all about "money money money." Bend Studios (or whoever is making the DLC) is telling the community exactly what this DLC is, just like Valve did with the ring, so I'm still confused as to why you support Valve doing it but not another company.

selling something that is useful ingame and selling useless shit are two diffrent things.

"b-but you can buy weapons in tf2!"

you can also trade them/craft them/earn them from drops.
