I imagine they'll have the ability/option to disable Remote Play for multiplayer, simply because the last thing a competitive game needs is another gateway to lag people's actions. Imagine all the rage throws of Vitas instead of controllers haha! $250 vs $50, yikes!

This is a good idea for those who have a PS Vita. Good thing its optional to use the vita for gameplay.

yea i totally spinned this as a bad thing rather than making a joke that developers are so lazy that they rather add a pointless ps eye cam thing than implement remote play because yoshida said in the article "Unless the game requires the ps4 camera or something."

A simple "yay for Vita" would have sufficed, but no...your intent was to make the PS4 sound like the Xbone and its shoved down our throats Kinect.

There is nothing negative about this announcement. No developer in their right mind will integrate PS Eye support just to dodge the Vita bullet. If they're too lazy to go down the Remote Play path, they don't deserve our money in the first place.

Thanks for the clarifications, I feel a little dumb now. I didn't think of it acting as a TV. Still, as Shuklar said, I don't think Multiplayer will work, and games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield are mostly bought to be played online, so... I still think it's a bit silly to make it mandatory but since it won't compromise quality I'm good with it.

Wow, this is great news! I tried the Remote Play when I first got the Vita, but there weren't very many games to try it out with.

Keep in mind, these are playing via Remote Play on hacked CFW, so there's no control mapping, no network optimisation etc. Officially supported PS4 games on Vita will control far better.

    Here's Warfighter online MP -

More demos here, including Homefront, Dishonored, Bioshock 2, MGS, Resistance, SotC, DMC, Dead Space & Alice - http://www.youtube.com/user/homer49/videos

Based on the video info, it looks like only the PS3 is running CFW and not the Vita. The PSN was locked out for CFW until a few months ago which is why most of them aren't online MP demos. The Warfighter MP demo is running PS3 CFW 4.21 with access to the PSN.

The point is you can see the Vita Remote Play experience is in no way hindered by the small screen and it will only get better with official developer support for Remote Play. Some control mapping will be needed, but it'll be the same game on PS4 and Vita.

How does this work? Don't most games use more than one trigger and clickable sticks as L3 and R3? The Vita doesn't have enough buttons!

Thanks ant1th3s1s, that's impressive. I'm actually thinking about buying a Vita now depending on game announcements this E3 so this would benefit me. Hell, now I even wish they made it for PS3 too.

Usually L2, R2, L3, and R3 are mapped to the touchscreen on the back.

L3 and R3 would be mapped below L2 and R2.

Hmmmm, that seems a little clunky to be honest. So shooting in games like COD and Battlefield would be done with the back touchscreen? I don't know, it just seems like that wouldn't feel natural. Can anyone who tried this comment?

No, shooting is normally done with L1 (aim) and R1 (fire). That being said, I agree that anything that relies too heavily on those buttons will be bad, because I'm not at all impressed with the back touch screen. Mostly I just touch it by accident while I'm holding the Vita.

Despite owning both a vita and PS3, I have never used remote play and I have no urge to either. I suppose to some it's a nice extra feature though.

Maybe it'll give me more reasons to use my Vita, other than when I'm traveling I don't really use it. I like the idea, it's a really cool concept... so long as the implementation is good too. It may not be suited to all types of games but there's probably some that will still be awesome on the Vita.
