Platinum #34 - Grand Theft Auto IV - Taking A Liberty

What a long, strange trip this has been...

This one is pretty special for me. I bought my PS3 on October 9th, 2009. I had 5 games that first day, but the only one that had trophies was GTA IV. Shortly after popping in the game, I heard my very first ding, as my PS3 told me I had earned the bronze trophy Off The Boat, thus beginning my journey through the world of trophy hunting.

Of course in my early days I wasn't as much of a hunter, so I slowly made my way through GTA, as I had already played it on PC, so it wasn't new to me. I'd wander in and out of the game, grabbing all of the single player trophies, and even some of the online trophies. About 6 months in I had them all except for AWP and Wanted. The DLC came out and I'd finish those off, but AWP and Wanted still remained out of reach. I just couldn't NOOSE that much, nor could I do all those races. I moved on to other games for 18 months.

In December I came back, and decided it was finally time to finish what I had started with this game. I finished off AWP (glitch free!) on December 29th, and then went back to the grind for 5 million. It took me 2 weeks, but I finally did it, getting that sweet double ding for the final trophy I needed, and of course that sweet sweet platinum.
