No, its only PS2 discs, not PSN content.

Which means yes, you can download and play/enjoy them.

PSN is fine, PS2 discs are not.

There aren't alot of PS2 games on PSN atm, so most likely you're out of luck if none of them are of your interest :/

Only very early model fat PS3's could play PS2 games - if you download something on PSN though it will be fine, you just can't purchase PS2 discs and expect them to work in the drive though.

All the above is correct. Just buy PS2 games on the Store and it should be no problem to play. I still have my 60gb "fat" PS3 so i can still play PS2 games. I don't do that alot, last time i played Need for Speed with my girlfriend...

Like others have said. It just means you cannot play PS2 discs on your slim model. Anything you download from the PSN/SEN will be fine.

The PlayStation Network carries the PS2 content support for the PlayStation 3, which will allow for PS2 games either disc or download to be played on the PS3 not to mention the emulation for the PS2 is done by software for the PS3.

The backwards compatibility PS3's were the 60GB and 80GB. The slim can't play PS2/PS1 discs.

I know my local walmart has quite a stock of PS2 slim models available for purchase new, not sure about the price but might be a good place to start your search if you really need that PS2 fix and have a store location near you

That was only for the original fat PS3s.
