I would say Castlevania: Lords of Shadow not many people gave it a chance and all the ones that did seem to like it.

I'm known for playing games a critic wouldn't want to touch with a 10 foot pole, which is their loss and my gain. Such underrated gems include both Trines, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, X-Men Destiny, Dragon Age 2 and many others. Remember the old saying, "It's not the critic who counts."

I would have to go with Dark Void. I thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finsh. The gameplay was awesome.

I found Dragon Age 2 an atrocious excuse of a game.

LBP was popular with reviewers but heavily underrated by gamers, especially ones who hadn't even played the game.

Quite a mouthfull I know (and this is only PS3 games), but with big names like MW and Battlefield, many good titles goes to waste.
    Basically that.

    The Saboteur.
It was a great open world game made by Pandemic before they closed down.
You played Shaun in the 1940's during World War II, you could do so many missions to destroy Germany.
    It was great fun.
    Currently Playing:|Mass Effect 2/Insanity Run|

Hands down it's gotta be Nier. It went completely under the radar since more popular games at the time were being released. It's personally one of my favorite RPG's of all time and has an amazing story and one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard for a game. I'm not sure how this game managed to pass so many RPG lovers, but whenever someone asks for suggestions on what RPG they should play I always suggest Nier. Everyone that took the suggestion and got back to me later always said they loved it. I must keep spreading the Nier love.

Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon My wife and I have done everything there is to do in this game and we still play it to this day. I think GameInformer gave it a 4/10. This is easily in my top 20 games for PS3. Too bad there was never a trophy patch.
Dead Island- So many people hate on this game but I love it.
Enslaved: OTTW- Was one of the best games I've played in ages.
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken- I'm loving this game. Just taking my time for platinum cause it's just good ol fun for me.
Rayman: Origins- Just got this game and I've heard tons of bad things but I loved the demo and I'm lovin the full game even more.

    Mirror's Edge.

It was such an underrated game that I felt really naughty about loving it so much!

I remember the exact moment when I thought: "this game ain't half bad... it's actually really fun and I only bought it for AU$15 - what a bargain!"

I have this game, but I can't bring myself to play it.
The controls and over all quality just seemed bad.

Personally, I think the most criminally overlooked, under-purchased and not played enough games (that I've actually played) are:

    Bulletstorm
    Vanquish
    The Darkness II
    ALICE : Madness Returns
ENSLAVED : Odyssey To The West
    SPECS OPS : The Line

Nier: AMAZING game, soundtrack is one of the best ones I've ever heard. So sad we didn't get the enhanced version.
Folklore: another great RPG that often gets overlooked because it was not one of the more known franchises.
El Shaddai - Ascension of the Metatron: I loved this game. Visually it's gorgeous. It often gets overlooked because it's short and combat's simple (it's more complex than it seems though). Story's confusing but it's based on mythology. I recommend at least renting this one.
Demon's Souls: Dark Souls gets all the love (being multiplatform and all) but in my opinion this game is superior. It may not be "underrated" but it should get more love, for sure. Both games are great though.
