How to spot a "trophy hacker"

Introduction

This thread is only to inform people how to spot a person who has used a "trophy hack", I am in no way trying to get people to use exploits or glitches to earn trophies. I am also not trying to get the admins to make the leader board legit because that will take to much time and people have lives outside of this site. As a proud trophy hunter I look at my collection knowing I did everything there with persistence, patience, and skill. This thread will show you how certain "trophy hacks" contradict on how the person earned the platinum, actually cheated. One important note about the average "trophy hacker" they have almost no patience when it comes to using the method to obtain the platinum. Allow me to explain once they use the method they will immediately use it again to obtain another trophy. If I am breaking any site rules with this thread please inform me and I will close the thread or a mod can shut it down. Lets begin

USB Save Glitches

This game roughly takes 400-800 hours depending on skill and or boosting methods. It is impossible to obtain in a matter of minutes, and is very easy to spot anyone who glitched the platinum.

This is a racing game that takes roughly 30-60 hours depending on skill and boosting methods. You guessed it the second easiest game to spot, why because just like Socom Confrontation it pops up almost all the trophies except for a few of them. Just look at a few trophies if the person got majority of them in a matter of seconds than its obvious they glitched it. There is a second way to spot a hacker, look at




Hobbyist challenger
Win 30 challenges.






Regular challenger
Win 100 challenges.






Obsessional challenger
Win all 190 challenges.

It is impossible to earn all three of these trophies at the same time, one major contradiction of the timestamps.

A very good classic FPS, the game that started the CoD series. This is not a easy platinum and will take some time to get through Veteran difficulty, Overall the platinum will take 25-50 hours highly depending on skill to get the platinum trophy. There is only one way to find out if someone cheated to get this platinum. Observe the time they beat the game, than look at the other difficulties to see how many hours it took them, for example I noticed someone beat regular difficulty at 11:00pm than 2 hours later beat Veteran difficulty than 30 minutes later beat hardened, how is that possible .

Well this game roughly takes 80-120 hours depending on how good you and your friends are at noosing. Well someone figured out a way to "hack" the Wanted trophy, which is hit the highest possible rank in multiplayer. The way to spot anyone who has glitched the game is as soon as they get Off the Boat trophy a few seconds later the Wanted trophy pings aswell. It is also highly unlikely for anyone to get Wanted before they get Let the sleeping Rockstars Lie trophy, which is to kill someone online who has this trophy. . A third method is look at Cut your Teeth - You were successfully promoted up a rank in multiplayer and Wanted trophy because if they used the hack both of these trophies ping seconds apart fro eachother, which is impossible if you played the game legit. You were successfully promoted up a rank in multiplayer. Also important information the glitch for this game only works if its the persons first time playing GTA IV online.

Bioshock a very unique FPS which roughly takes 10-25 hours depending on skill and number of playthroughs to get the I tested this out on a sub account and found out what trophies ping with the glitch. By doing so I found out how to spot the hacker because by using the glitch two trophies pop up at the same time that shouldn't pop up if you did the game legitimately. The trophies are Tonic Collector - Collect or Invent 58 Tonics in the Physical, Engineering and Combat tracks and Historian - Find every audio diary. It is impossible to get these two trophies to ping at the same time because you will find every audio diary before you even get close to tonic collector.

Wet is a pretty decent game once you get used to the controls and can take anywhere from 25-50 hours(depending on skill). The game can be unforgiving at times and throw you into situations where you will die almost instantly, which is why some people "hack" this game. The way I figured out how to spot a possible "hacker" is with these three methods. 1. Look at the time they beat the game than look at another difficulty if you see something like them beating the game a second time in the span of a few minutes or even 2 hours, than they used the glitch. Why well its obvious you can't beat this game in 10 minutes that's why. 2. Observe there Total Bone-head trophy , if they earned that and the other two challenge trophies at the same time(which is highly unlikely because there are a few challenges that getting gold on will take quite a few attempts) than the person may have used the glitch. 3. Keep Your Balance trophy can be done either on Golden Bullets or Easy difficulty, the people I saw(no names) somehow stored 50,000 balance points at 3:30pm than 15 minutes later beat the game on Femme Fatale . Step 1 is guaranteed that the person used the glitch but Step 2 & 3 are 50/50 imo.

One of my favorite games on the PS3 got hacked , oh well unfortunately for those who only got this game to hack there way to the plat never truly enjoyed this game. LittleBigPlanet 2 will take around 40+ hours to get the plat. This is yet another super easy one to spot since the glitch pings all the trophies in the span of seven minutes for one epic face palm moment .

Uncharted Drake's Fortune is a really popular moderate difficulty platinum to have in your collection. The game will take roughly 15-30 hours(Highly dependent on skill) The glitch can automatically unlock the Crushing difficulty trophy by only beating the last stage, which is pretty easy if you got through the evil blue room with water. One method for spotting if anyone hacked this plat is by looking at the time they beat the game the first time than look at the next time they beat the game, if its in the span of a few minutes than they glitched to the last level to beat Navarro and got rewarded with a trophy. The second method is rare to see but some people get all the treasure trophies to ping one after the other which is impossible and very obvious that you cheated.

Uncharted 2 is another game that shouldn't give to much trouble to the average gamer as long as you keep your patience in Crushing you will be fine. The plat will take 15-30(Highly depending on skill) and two playthroughs minimum. The hack in this one is even easier than UDF because they put you on the bride scene and all you have to do is get to the other side, and save chloe from being dragged down by the one of the Guardians. Just like UDF look at the time they beat the game the first time than the second time, if there a few minutes apart than they cheated to get the Also the same thing goes for the treasure trophies in this game to because a few people got all 100 of them in a few minutes which is impossible.

Dead Space will take 20-30 hours(Highly depending on skill) and 2-3 full playthroughs. I am not going to lie its difficult to know if anyone hacked this because 91% of the trophies are really easy to obtain and there are DLC suits that make Impossible difficulty into Easy. One method is pay close attention to the time they beat the game to the time they beat the game again to see if they immediately used the hack.

Prototype is a very nice platinum to have in your collection if you didn't cheat for it and I clocked in just over 50+ hours for the . On a average it will take 40-100 hours(Depending on how good you are on the platinum events). One of the harder ones to spot if anyone hacked but most hackers will stay away from this game because of Revenge Revisited - Beat the game on Hard difficulty. The hack unlike UDF you have to beat the Supreme Hunter Boss on Hard difficulty, for most people the last boss is a huge pain and damn near impossible which is why anyone hacking this plat is very unlikely. To spot if anyone used the hack look at Polymath and Streetwise timestamps. Why because its impossible to get both trophies a few seconds apart because the collectibles are well hidden and scattered all over Manhattan so you have to use a very good video guide for each collectible. inFamous will take 15-40 hours(Depending how fast you locate the blast shards) and 2 playthroughs, one for each karma. This game is easy and I doubt anyone used the save glitch to obtain the but there are two methods I know how to spot someone. 1. Look at the stunt trophies because the glitch will ping all of them at the same time for one huge fail. 2. Look at the District trophies because the save glitch pings all three trophies in a matter of seconds, last time I checked you cant take over three districts in 4 seconds .

Borderlands is a FPS mixed with RPG elements and will take roughly 20-30 hours for the and 2-3 playthroughs. This is really easy to spot aswell just look at the level trophies because the person I caught somehow got all level trophies in the span of 10 seconds...its obvious that he or she used the save glitch.

MW2 will take 25-40 hours(Depending on Spec Ops partner) also will take 1-2 playthroughs. This is very easy to spot if anyone used a save glitch for the . Observe the spec ops trophies because the save glitch will ping all of the spec ops trophies one after the other, which is impossible if your playing legit.

Dead to Rights will take 10-15 hours and 1-2 playthroughs. Only one method is needed to spot a "trophy hacker" for this game and that's by looking at the two following trophies, The Price of Justice and Honor the Dead . Both the requirements are to collect 25 cop badges than collect 50 cop badges. The "hacker" will most likely get both trophies at the same exact time which is impossible because you will get The Price of Justice way before you get Honor the Dead.

Prince of Persia will take roughly 15-20 hours and 1 1/2 playthroughs for the . Thanks to prarpin for the tip on how to spot anyone who used a save file to get this platinum. He said the easiest way to spot is look at the Light Seed trophies. If they are earned within seconds or a few minutes, they used the save file. The Light Seeds trophy is the hardest and most time consuming part for the which is why use the save file.

Prince of Persia is a very easy to get and should pose no problem to a average gamer at all. It will take 7-15 hours(depending on number of playthroughs) to get the plat. I have no real method on how to spot anyone who used a "save glitch" but just be aware of the first trophy they got, for example if they got the Untouchable trophy first, which is beat Ratash in the throne room without taking any damage than they most likely took advantage of a save exploit. Its rare to see anyone glitch this game due to the fact its really easy to do.

The servers for this game are closed and there are online trophies for this game so if you see anyone with this platinum and they got the online trophies after 2/8/11 than they used a save glitch. Why because the servers are down making the platinum impossible for anyone who missed out on the online trophies.

Operation Dragon Rising will take roughly 15-20hours(highly depending on skill) and is a modern FPS game. The game is very challenging on Hardcore difficulty making this plat very rare and so is the save glitch because you need to beat the last stage on Hardcore difficulty. I have no real way of spotting anyone but most noob trophy hackers will stay away from this game due to its difficulty and the fact that most people never heard of this game

I have a few friends on my list who use these exploits and I don't judge them for that because that is what they want to do. This thread is only information on how to spot anyone who has used a glitch to obtain a platinum trophy. These are all assumptions I am making and nothing is guaranteed. Thanks for pointing out that you can start a new game and still have the progress of another difficulty

There are loads more games that can be hacked like Little Big Planet 2, Gran Turismo 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 there are more games but i can't remember them atm. People hack the trophies using a jail broken PS3 on those games and they can also make the trophy earned times look legit. Also alot more people are buying platinums now (Another person makes a new user on PS3 and doesnt create a PSN account and then they will get the platinum/hack the platinum. Then they will sell the platinum to whoever wants to buy the platinum. Once someone has brought the platinum, the person has to give their PSN details to the person that has earned the plat/hacked it, so then they can sync it to the buyers account).

lol this is a work in progress and I am only pointing out the most common ones usually the "usb saves". I recently found out about people buying trophies which is a disgrace if you ask me but that's what they wish to do. Also sometimes its obvious to point out who buys platinum trophies.

Welcome to life and the real world my friends, if there is a way to avoid doing the work to get something for free people will do it. Hell look at the welfare system we have in the states. kinda interested how some of these can be hacked since i have a few myself, dont really understand why people hack trophies since they dont do anything, if you got some sort of reward for each platinum i could understand but they really dont matter

You can pretty much identify a hacker easily by the time it took them to obtain a trophy compared to their first trophy and such for any game. I like seeing people who hacked games I platted legitimately. (To make it clear, I don't hack and have no knowledge on how to do so).
