the only thing i ever bought from them were the portal 2 collectors edition guide.

and not even for the guide part, but for the art book section.

seriously i only buy strategy guides if they were included with a art book or something

I recommend to check out the Dark Souls guide...one of the best guides out there.

I've never bought any game guide because I have the internet and plus they're not usually available in my country or are expensive. The only ones I would get are guides for fighting games since they include nice combos and all that, but given that a new edition comes out every 6 months it's not even that useful...

I haven't bought a strategy guide in so long, when it was hard to find good information on the internet... It's nice but not really necessary anymore.. I think the last one I bought was for ps1, can't even remember game.

The only reason I'd be interested would be for a cool rpg game/fighting game/ or a nice art book. But overall it's a waste of trees

The only strategy guide I've ever owned was a free grand theft auto III guidebook that came with a gaming magazine back when, information was a lot harder to come by in those days for things to, there is really no point to buying them any more and they're like... 20-40 dollars aren't they?
