I think RDR is one of those games where that just happens occasionally. I had it freeze on me a couple times while playing also. Just Cause 2 is another game that's bad for doing that when u quit the game.

I think the when it beeps 3 times and shuts down, it's just an indication that the game froze ~ just hard reset and it's fine

Yea, hard reset it (hold the button). Unplugging it might not be the best thing for it in that case.

The best game for freezing up is battlefield bad company 2 man that hurts when you have a high score and that shit happens.

You have a slim or phat ps3? These things happen just try to maintain your ps3 by dusting it and keeping it clean And ventilated

it's nothing to worry about. as many have said it just freezes from time to time and it does that. but don't unplug it. just hold down the power button (if it's a slim) or the hold your finger over the power section of the touch pad (if it's a fatty) till you hear it beep and the green light flashes. it will power down and you just turn it back on and you'll be fine.

    Pretty much this.

Like someone said, you need to clean the dust and vacuum it from time to time. Wiping dust off is another good habit. But never flip the power switch (if its a fatty) or unplug it. It freezes from heat or too much info to process, but turning it off from is asking for trouble.
