Connecting my PS3 into my computer's monitor

    Hi guys.
I have a monitor that I'm using for my computer. It has a DVI port at the back. I've bought a "Female HDMI to Male DVI" from eBay. That was I can basically convert HDMI into DVI. I've connected my PS3's HDMI cable into the converter, and the DVI Male into the DVI port in my screen.
Somehow, it just doesn't work (Even though I pressed the "Power" button long enough for resolution settings).
In addition, if I connect my computer using this converter to the monitor, it works.. But the PS3 doesn't work :\
Can you please give me a tutorial/tips on how to do so?
    Thanks .

What resolution is your PC set to? Is it lower than 1920*1080? Try setting the HDMI quality on the PS3 to 720p if it isn't already. The monitor also needs to be HDCP compliant, i was under the impression that all DVI-based monitors are, but maybe not.

It can't hurt to try the PS3 in 720p, it may well be that it automatically started outputting in full HD, which your monitor wouldn't know what to do with because it's not supported.

Change it to 720p on the PS3 and if needed, 1280 x 720 on the monitor.

Also note that you may lose audio in HDMI to DVI signal conversion, so keep a composite or optical audio cable handy.

Okay.. How do I do that?
When my PS3 is connected to the TV, change the resolution, and then connect it to the monitor just like that?
