Also if you have a GameCube or Wii then get Tales of Symphonia, greatest action rpg of all time IMO and should get you hooked with its brilliant gameplay and story

Final Fantasy XIII is a good game to ease you into jrpgs, I always used to get lost or lose interest halfway through but now I'm hooked on them

anyone who recommends Final fantasy is insane

My RPG Recommendation list (Only limited to PS3 Games, If it wasn't limited to the PS3 i can list more):

Alpha Protocol, Bit buggy but it's still a amazing RPG and underrated to hell

Fallout: New Vegas (It's the game Fallout 3 should of been)

    Valkyria Chronicles 1

    Deus Ex Human Revolution

Deus Ex Ps2 Classic if they ever bring it out to the US

and thats about it. Those RPG's Are 100% golden

    Runescape on the computer.
It was the very first RPG game I played. I've been addicted to playing it for the last 7~ years.

    @Crealkllr,
The OP is looking for noob friendly games... I don't really think FF is noob friendly.

Hmm thats your opinion i guess. I think Disgaea is not noob friendly.

Games like final fantasy 8, where you take turns and the game starts slow, is noob friendly to me. How do you stop being a noob? Take off the training wheels and try these games

Games like Valkyrie Chronicles is on the same plane as Final Fantasy. Starts easy, and as you get more used to the game, it gets harder. But both Valkyrie and Final Fantasy requires no previous knowledge other than knowing:

    *What is attack
    *how to heal
*the enemies has life points, get rid of all of it to win
    *how to talk to NPC
    *how to move
    *how to save your game
*basic strategy like going for head-shots (for valkyrie) or knowing water beats fire.

Further more, i didnt ask you Kal

Your speculation is just speculation since you dont know what Ps360 means by their wording either. Your guess is not necessary

Easy tiger...let's not let this evolve into yet another pissing contest. Everyone has their own opinions on the topic at hand, so there really isn't a 'wrong' answer.

Supposing it counts as a high-profile game, you're right.

Skyrim is a great choice. While it's very in depth, it's still pretty simple to manage and it's only as complex as you want it to be. If you just want to do a few quests and follow the main storyline, you can. If you want to go balls out and create an entire second life complete with scouring the countryside for ingredients to make soup for your wife who is stuck back at you humble shack, you can. It's a great game for both beginners and long time rpg players.

The best thing about playing Skyrim is that it will introduce you to new rpg features and get you accumstomed to them to branch out into other games, if that's what you'd like to do.

Didn't read through the list of stuff everyone said, but I'd throw out Dragon's Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll. .

start out with something simple to understand and you can jump right into... if you have Steam get Torchlight... its cake to learn and a blast to play... if you want something more realistic... try Fallout 3... if you do try Fallout I suggest the PC version because the PS3 version of both Fallout games freeze like crazy...Costume Quest on PSN looks stupid but its a blast to play... or snag Chrono Trigger from the PS1 classics.... you probably won't find a better RPG out there

IT didnt turn into a pissing contest, although if you read it and thought i was "stirring something up", your wrong. I never implied that their answer was "wrong", just that i disagree

I'd recommend Borderlands and/or Skyrim. I'm like you. I'm not big on RPG's bit I was immediately hooked on those games.

Difference being that Borderlands takes some RPG aspects like leveling up, perks, stat modifiers, etc., while RDR is simply an action game in a Third Person perspective.

My point was that not just because it is a TPS or FPS it can't be an RPG. See Deus Ex.
