FF13 becomes very challenging once u get to chapter 11 and on
it's more about strategy and speed and how well u know the battle system
not for noobs for the last quarter of the game

Can't you just press and occasionally for literally every battle?

PS3 - I recommend Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the Witch...that game looks great, battling is a cross between classic RPGs and Pokemon...the story is interesting...but if u want to plat it, it is a bit of a grind but nothing to extreme...

360- I say Blue Dragon, again classic rpg feeling game...interesting story and an old school feeling turn based battle sys with its own twist...

Dragon's Crown is a super fun 2.5D sidescroller co-op RPG that just came out. It's got all your basic RPG elements and is a blast, especially with a friend or three.

No one mentioned the first Mass Effect? Aged terribly, but still, it's good enough. The other 2 are 3rd person shooters

Last Rebellion, it's even easier and shorter than Borderlands.

I agree you should give FF13 a try , as it has pretty simple gameplay and a awesome storyline

I would recomend Borderlands, Borderlands 2, or Skyrim. They're fun for both the hard core RPGer as well as the newbies.

South Park: The Stick of Truth.

It's condensed experience that's very accessible to RPG 'n00bs'.
