    I prefer disc over digital.

    Disc (Pros)

    • You get a manual with the game.
    • You don't have to install the entire game on your hard drive.
    • You can sell it or play it on different consoles with ease.
    • You can buy the games much cheaper via disc.

    Disc (Cons)

    • You might lose the disc or cause damage to it.
    • Takes up space in your gaming area.

There are many more reasons, I personally think I will end up preferring digital in the future though once that becomes more of a popular thing and we have much larger hard drive sizes and better RAM.

I heard that iKea is going to stop selling bookcases and instead sell display cases. This makes me kind of sad as a person whose living room is decorated in books, dvds and games. I guess that is the way of the future.

I've always preferred to have a physical copy in my hands. I don't sell my games so I can't use the excuse that I can later sell them for some money. However, I prefer to build my collection and this allows me to eventually go back to my older games and replay them such as the original Final Fantasy and Mario games etc...

As for where I think the future is heading. I believe we're definitely heading towards down loadable versions instead of physical copies. As much as I dislike this, I think its going to be inevitable.

Whether it's the PSN Store, XBOX Marketplace, or Steam Store anything you pay and download you can always re-download if your HDD goes belly up. If your disc goes bad on the other hand your pooched and will have to buy another copy. There's pros and cons to each situation.

I hate digital content for gaming, your limited to what you can get and how much of it unlike disc. Disc is the way forward and always will be!

Disc. No brainer. Digital tend to freeze. Having a Disc copy is always good for collection as well.

I prefer discs. There's just something comforting about having a physical copy in case something happens to your HDD. I know that you can re-download PSN games but that's not true for all the media I own. Plus, I like the smell of a new game and the feeling of opening a new game. I also have a fat PS3 with a small HDD, so I can't download too many games.

I've played InFamous oon a disc and in digital form and that's true. The game doesn't freeze all the time, but it never froze on the disc.

I want the hard copy over the digital. Having to redownload everything when you get a new ps3 sucks. Plus the unboxing is exciting to fight with the plastic and security sticker.

I have read each post on here and really see that first being 39 is ok as there are members in my age bracket back to the topic I didn't think the feelings would be so strong to having the actual disk, I do like the idea of being able to sell it, being able to lend it, to trade it etc. With digital there are no options, which is kinda sad, to bad you couldnt re sell your finished digital games haha, anyways,

I also love the smell of a freshly opened game, in response to the post about that,

And I also have book shelves with many books I have read and love the fact that I know there there and can be lent to someone and I just like to collect, wether it be games or what have you and a digital library is not something I get the same feeling when I find a game and bring it home. Great responses.

I have to go with disc, I'll only download if it's a psn game.
As for the future maybe all discs will be scrapped and we will have to download everything.... but that would suck!!

I prefer physical copies. Digital copies are tied to accounts. Account goes bye-bye for whatever reason and you lose everything.

Definitely a physical copy. I don't do the digital thing at all - no downloaded games, no DLC (unless it's on a disc), etc. Of course companies want folks moving towards digital because they can control access to the 1s and 0s on the screen while the consumer has zero recourse.

I ain't having it. Old school all the way.
