Disc or Digital what do you prefer and where do you think the future will take us...

I am older now 39 and pretty used to liking the whole idea of going shopping, seeing something and actually touching it and deciding wether you really want it, thats alot more exciting then just pressing x and watching a progress bar to me, althought I like the idea of less enviromental cost with downloading it versus packaging shipping etc, so whats your thoughts,

I prefer to have the game on disc without a doubt, like you I prefer to be able to actually have my purchase in my hand.

Don't get me wrong, I also like to have games stored on my PS3 but I can't get a collection of games on the shelf with those

I'd rather have the disc in hand, with packaging.

Same here. When I get done with a game, I usually sell it on eBay.

    Anyways, back on topic:

I'm split 50/50, sometimes I like having the disc copy, especially GOTY, Limited, Anniversary Editions. Some releases are beautiful pieces of artwork that no Digital Download can ever duplicate or replicate. On the other hand Digital Downloads are convenient and offer peace of mind knowing that you'll never have to worry about scratching or ruining your disc.

I prefer having a disc. Downloading something is nice I guess, but I would rather have a hard copy. A physical collection of games is more impressive than a file filled with rare games I could care less about PC gaming.

I prefer to have a physical copy myself for many of the above stated reasons. Although I don't mind digital downloads if it is "the future", whatever it takes to keep gaming going, I am for. I look at music and see a platform that has majorly altered itself to a digital base to keep with the times, and wonder how much longer before the really big titles just show up on the network stores every Tuesday.

I prefer disc because if everything you have is digital and your HDD goes bad, you lose all your games

    i prefer the disc
it nice having the case and having them stored separately rather then all in one place
if something goes wrong you will have to redownload that whole game if you didnt back up with pc for example
and i just dont have super fast internet to be able to download gb of data fast

    You're 38?

Ok, guess I'll actually respond. I have a small hard drive on my fatty, so I certainly prefer disc-based games. Also, if something happens to the system, a digital copy would be lost and have to be redownloaded. Also, Blurays are far more reliable than CD's and DVD's are, so discs tend to last much longer.

I'm 38 and I hate shopping - partially because there is cloth shopping involved. (I have a wife and 3 daughters) The future is definitely in digital downloads. That would be my choose if my ps3 hard drive would be bigger.
