I feel exactly the same with it, eventually that mechanic devise will stop working. As for the expansive HDD, I don't think it would be necessary.. I mean 500GB It's a huge amount of HDD space so.. at least for me I won't be bother about it

Actually no... I meant the $399 because in my country they always sell things more expensive as in US or other places... latinamerica have that in common... that new PS3 won't be costing less than 5,000 MXN pesos, that's around 399 dolars (390 US dollars exactly).

I thought that it would be more state of the art, but the disc tray is a turn off for me. I'll be sticking with my 160GB slim.

(Just added that for some balance..)

Hahahaha holy shit it looks terrible. It looks like a cheap Chinese knock-off of a PS2, as opposed to the first Slim which at least looks like a cheap Chinese knock-off of a PS3. The original Slim still looked like shit, however, it is growing on me after being forced to buy one when my launch 60GB died. Anyway, this Super Slim looks like it took about 25 cents to manufacture, I wouldn't be surprised if these had really high failure rates.

The tray doesn't bother me because you can manually move it, so if the button breaks it won't cause any problems.

Honestly, If I had the cash I'd get that just to play downloaded games on because it looks really cool + 500GB is nice. But I wouldn't trust disc-based games with that thing >_>

I would really laugh my butt off if people with gamer rage just ripped that cover off when they got frustrated. Then you have people that would slam it close or better yet the multiples opening/closing that would make it kinda stick a little. You dust that will build up. Nah Sony, this new one has to many flaws.

Good thing it doesn't have because I can stick to my current slim model.

It was one of my top concerns. Second time I got YLOD it was a friend's game that I borrowed inside.

And you can use the blowing air trick, but that's only on the 40gb Fatties, not the newer ones (to my knowledge, I tried on my 80gb but didn't actually work).

    That's fucking awful.

If you've got a Fatty, go out and buy a Slim, now, before they disappear.

I really don't like the method for inserting the disc, but otherwise, it looks... alright.

I'm seriously thinking about buying another Slim now just in case my current Slim breaks in the future as I'd hate to be stuck with buying that piece of garbage. I hate how its a high gloss finish like they mentioned in the video, unlike the current Slim. I also hate the sliding front like everyone else mentioned,

Me too, I'm going to buy a 320GB right now.

Who the fuck tested this design? Did they flick a couple of hobos a sandwich and call it "market research"?

I honestly think there's an ulterior motive at play with this design. Make it look clunky and unattractive to help launch the PS4 with a bang. I'm expecting the design and materials to be more akin to the Slim than the Fatty at launch, so lower aesthetic expectations will help PS4 launch sales.

I'm also guessing the PS4 is ramping up in the background, we'll see it late next year. There's just no other excuse for poor industrial design for this model, considering it'll do nothing but damage the brand.
