    A gaming education.

What have you learn about the real world from playing videogames?

Countless things in my case such as......
    • Geography from playing World Cup Italia 90, more than school taught me anyway
    • History from games such as Medal Of Honor, Assassins Creed and Metal Gear Solid ( Note i mean the bits that actually happened ).
    • The concept of stealth from Tenchu and Metal Gear, seriously, it saved me from being arrested (petty vandalism, kids stuff ).
So, care to tell me what nuggets you have gleamed from games?

History, from games like Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear Solid (especially MGS3), counting the stuff that's true, of course.
    Math, from games like Catherine.
Strategy, from games like Valkyria Chronicles and Advanced Wars (yeah)
Religion and other beliefs, mythology, etc; games like Bayonetta, el Shaddai, Dante's Inferno.
DIY from games like Terraria and Minecraft, and also Dead Rising (kind of)
Anatomy with Dead or Alive, Ass Effect -dat Miranda-, Borderlands -dat Lilith-, etc.
Studying skills with Persona 3 and 4
Survival Skills with Borderlands, Fallout, RAGE, Demon's Souls.

And of course improved basic skills like hand-to-eye coordination, quicker reflexes, data retention, patience.

History from AC and Uncharted, stealth tactics and combat from the Arkham games, and to leave no stone unturned from BioShock.

I learned a lot more about Greek Mythology playing the GOW games than learning it from a fat very mean lady 7th grade english teacher. Also GOW games were a lot more fun than that mean fat bitch who demanded we say good afternoon to her when nobody did because she was just an asshole.

You know, working as a night porter in a hotel before, i was always wary of darkened windows on quiet nights just because of those games and the fact they rattled like fuck in the wind, but i was less wary of Velociraptors and the undead, more likely drunk ,glue sniffing kids.

I find they just tend to leak, also, hiding in a corner doesn't regenerate health during a fight, i did respawn at the hospital though.
