Left 4 Dead to me as a gaming franchise is awesome. But Walking Dead overall is better in terms of the TV shows, graphic novels and now telltale's game. My vote still goes to L4D for nostalgic purposes.

Resident Evil. Resident Evil remake, 0, 2, 3 and Code Veronica are classics.

    Hands-down, Left 4 Dead.

i voted for L4D because its just mindless zombie slaying, but still remains playable after hundreds of hours of gameplay

I voted Walking Dead, and would have said Dead Nation if it was a choice... I would love it if Romero would option for a "of the dead" series of games... Not a mindless killing like Dead Nation(which is awesome, dont get me wrong) or a serial ( like Walking Dead), but maybe an open world type thing. That would be awesome.

With only one released game, I wouldn't consider Dead Island a franchise. Resident Evil gets my vote.

The Walking Dead has taken top spot from Left 4 Dead which took it from Resident Evil.

Oh and a shout out for DayZ even if it is a buggy mod, it still rocks.

The objective of the player is to guide main protagonist and player character Harry Mason through monster-filled alternate dimension as he searches for his lost daughter Cheryl. Silent Hill's gameplay consists of combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving.[5] The game uses a third-person view, with the camera occasionally switching to other angles for dramatic effect, in pre-scripted areas. This is a change from older survival horror games, which shifted constantly through a variety of camera angles. Because Silent Hill has no heads-up display, the player must consult a separate menu to check Harry's "health".[6]
Harry confronts monsters in each area with both melee weapons and firearms. An ordinary man with minimal experience with firearms, Harry cannot sustain many blows from enemies, and gasps for breath after sprinting.[4] His inexperience in handling firearms means that his aim, and therefore the player's targeting of enemies, is often unsteady.[7] A portable radio alerts Harry to the presence of nearby creatures with bursts of static.[4]

they are Monsters..not Zombies...and not saying that Silent isnt a Franchise....but they are not Zombies, same goes for Dead Space (they may share similar traits, but if the where Zombies, they would be called Zombies)

And that is your best resource? A Wikipedia page?

Since when do we have to adapt to what an encyclopedia of its class says? Well, if that is what you want...

"A monster is any fictional creature, usually found in legends or horror fiction, that is often hideous and may produce fear or physical harm by either its appearance or its actions."

That's exactly what a zombie represents and does and if we follow your stupid logic of agree with what Wikipedia says we should know that:

"A zombie (Haitian Creole: zonbi; North Mbundu: nzumbe)
is an animated corpse resurrected back to life by mystical means, such as witchcraft.[1]"

Thing that curiously happens in the game.

And this is where you fucked up all:

(...) same goes for Dead Space (they may share similar traits, but if the where Zombies, they would be called Zombies
    Your logic is:

Map: It is only a zombie if it is called like that
Mip: It is not called "zombie"
C: It is not a zombie

Now let's see the The Walking Dead case: it is a comic/TV series about zombies, there are a lot of people, including the own creators, that know and recognize them as zombies, and what is more strange: those monsters act just like zombies; so, do you think that nobody cares, as you are doing, by the fact of them being called "walkers" (not zombies) and thinking that because they are not called like that they are not that? That's pretty stupid.

And for finishing, and making sense with your weak arguments, Cameron Lucas, from Yahoo Answers, answering to Rob Smith question, that was "Is Silent Hill about zombies, cannibals or neither?", said that "(...)Also, the monsters are varied because it's more of a haunted town than anything. You will see a lot of zombies, Y E S. Maybe a jabberwocky, creepy demon children (which personally I find ******* horrifying) and monsters and general mutated things are thrown in the mix. Not to mention the creepy ghost girl."

Yeah, I know that is pretty stupid considering that I don't even know who is Cameron Lucas (maybe is a "he" or a "her"), but that's how you are arguing, quoting anything that could be quouted, so there you have.

    Greetings.

PD: The discussion could have been if the Silent Hill franchise could be considered one zombie franchise and I wouldn't have argued because, and I'm going to say this for you too, those are not a video games series focused in the zombie topic (although I could think some different). But as what you claimed was that there weren't zombies, well... you digged your own and loser grave.

PD2: If you didn't know, a zombie is a kind of monster too.

If we're counting Resident Evil as zombies, then that gets my vote.

I think the new Walking Dead by Activision will be my favorite when it drops. Can't find the words to say how excited I am for that one to drop. Looking forward to tearing crap up as Darryl.

They should make a game that turns thing around and you lead a horde of zombies and eat the world

People fear what they can't understand, hate what they can't conquer

Of those, probably Resident Evil for games. TV show would be The Walking Dead, movie would be Zombieland.
