Best Opening Scene in a Game

My favourite scene is the one from Deus Ex: Human Revolution where Adam Jensen becomes augmented after being revived from a case of severe hematoma (build up of blood in the body) caused from falling through heavily reinforced glass and a bullet to the brain.

    My favorite game as well.

Any time there's a discussion of 'Video Game Intros' I immediately think of this:

    God of War III.
It just throws you right into the action and doesn't miss a beat from the ending of the second game.

I'm going way back to the PSX here, the intro to Fear Effect, an amazing game for many reasons.

People may hate these titles, but their opening cinematic scenes are viscerally stunning.

Some others, that although lacking in visual grandeur, still have deep thematic impact and set up the tone of the game through non-interactive story telling are:

Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, and Suikoden II

Need help? Just ask (blank friend requests will always be ignored)

Totally agreed on those two as well lol. And the first Ninja Gaiden did have an awesome intro .

While XIII was godawful, the cinematic in the game were great, and in my opinion Final fantasy XI was a top notch game, unlike XIV.

In fact, I still enjoy a private server with friends on XI.

It's pretty dated now, but in 2002 it was genuinely jaw-dropping for me.
