Depending on the error, your region could be under maintenance, you have a poor signal or your router settings aren't ideal. Try moving your PS3 closer to your router/connect via ethernet.

It looks like it's still working despite giving you an error message

This kept happening to a couple days ago since I restored my PS3, all I did was run a connection test then shut off my router and PS3, then after a few minutes I turned everything back on and it worked from there, just took me a while to sync.

What can help is turning off your router for 30 seconds, then starting it back up and connecting 5 minutes later. Another way to fix it is just trying again immediately.

This is what usually happens when you only recently connect to the PSN.
