Hi guy well today the old fat boy gets a so called rezarecion ,like all the zombies out there..shes fully dead from ylod just beeps 3times then red light flashies ,common as ..So after loads of serching vids found a nice walkthru on reflowing my GPU/CPU chips with new paste..wish me luck guys as im tryn to do it today to save my data for my new ps3..

I have done this fix a few times myself when my old fat boy YLOD on me. And while it worked for me to get it up and running again it was not a permanent fix. I tried using it like before and every so often it would YLOD again. But if all you are doing is trying to save your info it should work well for you.

well so far so good guys ps is all open for me to see her insides ,chips cleaned up nice dedusted her down after lunch then the new paste job...fingers crosst i can save her till i get my data back ..So felow YLOD fulas stande by for results pix and vids ..

Well, I replaced the paste on mine after almost 6 years of its life and that did nothing at all

Might throw it out, sell it, or replace something. Currently using my slim.

Well done mate.
I got the YLOD back in March and watched all sorts of videos, similar to your post, but after I did all the work, it still didn't work
It was a fatboy and I even had a game in the machine, I couldn't part with it, the game or the console. I ended up sending it to Sony for a total revamp. Now I'm happy as pie

yes im very aware of this fact wana by a ps3 lol.. i already have 2 more ps3 now and my ps vita so yar im cool thanks but gess what i fixed my YLOD hehehe bet not many if any have skilz to do that not just by a new ps...the reasion i FIXED my old fat ps3 was to get my save game data off it i never thort it would work but dang its going stronger than ever and yer heeps less noise now ..

Congrats on the fix! yea it sucks there is no permanenent fix for ylod but its great that there are so many videos out there for the temp fix to get all your save files off.
