    Bethesda teases Fallout 4!!

Stumbled across this while I was bored, surfing the web

Are we going back to the wasteland? Bethesda may have been spending more time in the frozen wastes of Skyrim than the less frozen wastes of the post-apocalypticUnited States recently, but a carefully placed leak indicates that it’s getting ready to head back with Fallout 4.

Erik Todd Dellums, who played radio DJ Three Dog in Fallout 3, recently had this to say over Twitter:

“To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!”

And this was no haphazard tweet from an unmanaged employee. He continues:
“How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed.”

So that’s about as close to an official announcement of Fallout 4 as we’re going to get, pending the actual announcement, which can’t be too far off at this point. Dellums did retweet a fan who suggested that the role might be in a Fallout movie, but we’re certainly on schedule for a Fallout game right about now. There was no open world Bethesda game released last year, and there hasn’t been a Bethesda-developed Fallout game since 2008.

IGN notes that rumors the game will be set in Boston started to fly after Bethesda scouts were apparently seen snooping around Cambridge. Personally, I’d prefer to see something a little farther outside of the wastes we saw in Fallout 3 – maybe something in the South, or semi-tropical. A post-apocalyptic Miami, complete with keys and maybe a boat ride to Cuba, would be a sight to behold.

What we can assume is that Fallout 4 will follow Fallout 3 and run on Bethesda’s most recent Elder Scrolls engine, giving us a more realistic and grimy wasteland than we’ve seen before. It will also probably be buggy as sin, but apparently we’ve come to accept that.

Would be amazing to get another Fallout , I have read that once they make another 2 Skyrim DLC then Bethesda will work exclusively on Fallout 4 , I take it they have had another team on this for a long time , then everyone is going on it ?

I stopped caring about Fallout after that Fallout 3 GOTY and later NV fiasco. I still haven't played NV and I doubt I will anytime soon. If the game turns out to be good, without major problems, I'll get it. Otherwise forget it.

I highly doubt the game will be buggy as sin. Unless Bethesda is going to be developing it on the PS3 and not the PS4 cause pulling a Fallout game within a year would be ludicrous and would be warranted to be buggy. If Bethesda doesn't develop this game for the PS4 that would be a missed opportunity seeing the PS4 will likely be out or close to being launched by the time this game comes out.

It could, for all intents and purposes, be a 'prequel.' Perhaps Three Dog was initially from Boston before making the trek to the Capital Wastelands. Granted, Bethesda could just make it so that no matter what you did to Three Dog, he's here in this one anyway. Wouldn't be a big deal.

Boston is a cool setting but the problem I have with it are that it's missing the huge, easily recognizable landmarks that existed in the Capital Wastes. Boston has history, no doubt about it, but I couldn't name you all of the major monuments in the city. Whereas with D.C. I could name you most.

Just crossing my fingers for more info at this point.

Is the new game being made off a new engine ? I hope they use the one Skyrim did , the old one was good enough in its day but Skyrim looks awesome on its new engine , I take it they will use the same one .

    New Fallout

Loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but a PAULIE said, would be great if they are going to use the Skyrim engine

Oh and I'd take GNR over RNV anyday

Any Fallout news is good news in my eyes. Fallout 3 is one of my most beloved games of all time. New Vegas was good, but not as good as FO3 in my opinion. Meh, I wouldn't be amped if it was set in Boston, but I'd still play it. I'd actually prefer something different, like Fallout 4: Moscow. Even something like London would be good ... just something other than the U.S.

I must be the only person on the planet, who doesn't hold the bug infestation that is the Fallout Series, up on this Pedestal of Benevolence? If you love the games, great fine for you. I'll never be able to understand why people love it, I just found it increasingly boring and a technical nightmare.Rad Roaches weren't just creatures in that game series, they were part of the programing.

I figured they would be done with full game releases until the next gen, likely having a Fallout game available on launch day. It would be awesome to see one more this gen.

I might be in the minority, but I enjoyed NV more than 3. The addition of the casino's, faction money and outfits, and some of the other additions made it more fun and in depth. I hope they keep those little extra features. With it set in Boston, there are a few new things we could see, like radioactive snow and, dare I say, Canadians (though technically Canada is no longer a country and had been annexed to the USA years before the war).
