Where should I connect my Slim?

I used to have my old 2006 YLOD'd 60GB connected in my house's optimum gaming space - my bedroom. It was from this space that ever since I started playing PS3 online in 2009 that the connection has always been 70-97% quality with always a 3/4 bar connection (though on the rare rough days 1-2 bars due to downloading massive amounts of data). Now that I use a 120GB slim ever since the day after my fatty YLOD'd in September 2012 it has always been in my rumpus room, which isn't far away from my bedroom but suffers from a bad signal (20-40% with 1-2 bars most of the time, though it does reach 4 in the rare cases it reaches 40%) due to my house being a brick-fort in the private parts of the house, but it is open-spaced everywhere else.

My slim is connected to an improved version of my decade old heavy-as-shit 720p TV - a 1080p TV with the same size screen excluding the heavy as shit backside (which probably weighs 60KG), though the downside is the above. My question is where should I connect my PS3, as I return to Australia next week and am wondering where I should put it.

I intend to work on Resistance 2, Crysis 2 and many other MP-heavy games for my new account (Icaraeus) when I get back, so that's my story. Thanks in advance.

How far away is your room/rec room from the modem and/or router? Would it be worthwhile to actually go Wired? 100' cables do exist, though they can be unsightly.

The best connection would be best, if you would be playing online a lot.

My room is 10m or so from the router. The rumpus is directly behind it, though since there are brick walls everywhere it suffers from connectivity. I rarely use wired, as my wireless is very good even though it's extremely slow compared to today (1.3mb down, 0.8 up in my bedroom).

I did connect my slim once to Ethernet next to my router to download a few demos so that my slim wouldn't look bad compared to how my fatty was (15+ demos and some music).

Oh forgot to mention that my slim currently 95% of the time receives DNS errors within one minute of connecting to the PSN (if it does connect at all).

If you can't wire it up, buy a wireless signal relay / booster. That'll sort out the signal strength in the rumpus and bump it from 40% to close to 100%.

But..where would I put it? If I put it in the bedroom it'd still probably have bad connectivity. Next to it is the bathroom (LOL) behind it are bedrooms and, of course, the rumpus room (all within a 5m radius).

    Also - bedroom or rumpus?

That depends what is more comfy and more of your personal space. Mine is my bedroom, because no one else goes there.

They're about the same comfiness, I suppose. I use the exact same wooden chair for both rooms..

Okay, not the exact same wood quality and wood dimensions seeing that everything is different, but you get my gist.
