My 6 Year Old Son Finished Uncharted 3 by Himself

He played it on the normal setting. I only helped him on one puzzle, the one where you have to set the lantern into a hole on the ground to cast the correct shadow. That puzzle is mostly just trial and error with hundreds of possible holes, unlike some of the other puzzles (though I'm not sure how much trial and error he used in the other puzzles, probably more than the average player who understands how to use the journal correctly -- he does use the journal, I just don't know how much it helped him on different puzzles). I haven't finished the game myself, only about 40%.

My son is a pretty good gamer (don't mock my stay-at-home dad parenting skills, lol), he used to love to play the Marvel Alliance game when he was 3 (he could get pretty far on his own) and when he was 4 we finished Halo 3 together coop. I have another 3 year old son who has just learned how to operate both thumb sticks to move and look separately, and can fire the gun and punch people when they're up close.

Anyway, just sharing because I'm wondering if there are any known records for youngest players to finish games, and whether it's considered highly skillful for a 6 year old player to do what he's done. He's a smart kid, I wouldn't say he's a genius or anything like that, lol. Having played Uncharted 3, the respawn is very generous and there doesn't seem to be anything that requires incredible gaming dexterity to complete.

All that is pretty good, but I'm just hoping he knows all that violence is not real. Because saying "My 6-year old son just killed hundreds of people (even if they're "bad guys") all by himself, but they're not real" could be quite shocking for some people.
I don't wanna sound like an ass, after all I don't have any children but did play violent games when I was younger, I'm just concerned about him understanding that it's not right to do the same in real life.

Although its not his age rating and I don't condone underage gaming (that's the small print from my job out of the way), his a very good advanced gamer. My nephew could only do it on easy and he was 9 at the time. He is a fairly smart kid too.

Thats nothing. My 7 year old smokes crack and has sex with prostitutes.
A 6 year old should not be playing violent computer games.

A person making an account to post one post bragging about a story that may or may not be real, about his 6 year old playing a game 10 years before the recommended PEGI rating, is not worth much more of my time.

I helped my dad finish God of War one back on the PS2 when I was 5. Mostly with puzzles and such, especially when you have to listen for the Siren's call (he's hearing impaired) so I helped him a lot with that.

Anyway, I'm not sure we should let kids as young as 6 play M games, look at all the young Call of Duty fucks that have emerged over the years. I'm sure we all hate them, yes?

I wouldn't feel such a proud dad... You're just feeding him with early violence.

That's kinda cool. My parents wouldn't let me play something like that at 6. Maybe 7...
I was able to beat Jak II at age 6, maybe 7. To this day it amuses me how frustrated people can get. To this day I'll need to help my little sis more times than not.
