Crytek: Crysis 3 not doing well on metacritic due to "gamer fatigue"

    Toggle Spoiler

Source: Crysis 3 Isn't Doing So Well On Metacritic Because of Gamer Fatigue: Crytek

I can't say anything about Crysis 3 since I haven't played it. However, I know that I have gotten to a bit of a point as a gamer where I get tired of doing the same thing over and over. Now, even though I still play games such as CoD or NCAA, it isn't nearly for as long as before.

In some aspects, I have fatigue within genres than I do with a series. Perhaps that is why I have such a high amount of unfinished games.

I think it's weird too. Crysis 3 is a huge imorovement over 1 and 2 in my opinion.

After playing the Pc version for a few hours at a friend's house I can honestly say it deserves that score.
They focused on graphics but honestly even if it improves on Crysis 1 and 2 gameplay and story aren't that good anyway.
The love bashing on consoles but got really pissed when they realized graphics don't make a game.

    Well, I haven't played the first two....yet.

After hearing so many good things, I'm going to add all three to my list.
Extremely busy at the moment. I have not forgotten those that I am helping, so fear not!

I just started Crysis 3 online last night. It's pretty good IMHO. Hunter Mode is full of campers that will hide throughout the whole match. Ruins the fun of the mode.

Fatigue is right, I've been done putting hours into my PS3 for the past year, I don't even want to waste anymore time putting trophy or hours alone into it since the PS4 is almost here.

Too bad if it's not doing as well as expected (but what is in this economy?). It's definitely an incredible game and quite a lot of fun!

I feel the fatigue factor on FPS titles alright, Bulletstorm and Singularity are good examples of keeping it fun and fresh even with the use of FPS cliches.
Most FPS titles however, end up being a thudding bore in SP because they try to be too much like the big sellers and stick you in bland locales with cardboard cutout heroes and the same six gun types. No wonder it gets stale fast.

On a lesser level, i get fatigued with PES here and there, been playing it for 12 years now through highs and lows but it keeps on trucking. I can put at least 100 hours into each years release simply due to the fact that it's Football, plays like a dream 1 v 1 and has a great edit mode.

or maybe it's because it's a bigger bastardization of the crysis formula than crysis 2 was.
