[What If...] Quake II HD

I call this a "What if..." post. Basically you suggest a game that has not been converted to HD yet for the PS3, include any changes you believe should come with the HD converted game, include a list of trophies you believe should be included, and list any ideas for DLC that are reasonable with the game that you would like to see converted into HD.

My "What if..." game is Quake II HD. I know XBox 360 got it, or so I've heard, but PS3 hasn't. Now I doubt it's a favorite system thing because Doom and it's entire collection has been released for the PS3 and id made both the Doom series and Quake series, so it's possible that Quake and it's series could be released for PS3, or PS4, although highly unlikely.

If Quake II HD were to release for the PS3, clearly it would need changes in controls. I would like to see the ability to customize controls, rather than having a set layout for the controller. I would also like to see the availability of Hard+ mode, which was, in my opinion, the hardest game mode of any game I've ever had to deal with. If you don't understand, Hard+ mode could only be unlocked through cheats. I would also like to see international online playability, rather than just local. I would also like it if bots were included in multiplayer mode. These, I feel, are reasonable for the game, especially considering it's age. Nothing is dramatically changing, mostly just including bits that had previously already existed with the game, outside the bots, but the AI programming for bots is already there, just not in place for multiplayer.

- Complete the game on Medium difficulty.

- Complete the game on Hard difficulty.

- Kill the Makron.

Big Gun
- Collect the Super Shotgun.

Pretty Big Gun
- Collect the Chain Gun.

Really Big Gun
- Collect the Railgun.

Hot Potato
- Kill 5 enemies with one grenade.

Poor Bastard
- Kill a fellow marine.

Down! Good boy!
- Kill a Parasite without taking any damage.

I See What You Did There
- Witness a Medic revive another enemy.

Personal Problems
- Witness an enemy fighting another enemy.

Are You Not Entertained?
- Kill a Gladiator with the Railgun.

Cat Fight!
- Witness an Iron Maiden kill another Iron Maiden.

More Like Wet Paper to Me
- Kill a Tank with one shot.

Helping The Little Guy
- Assist a Guard in killing a Tank. The Guard must get the last hit in.

Broadside of a Barn
- Kill a Tank Boss without taking any damage.

Float Like a Butterfly
- Kill a Hornet without taking any damage.

Fragged
- Kill all enemies in the game on any difficulty.

- Gib another player with the BFG10k.

Old School Snipes
- Kill another player with a single shot from the Railgun.

You Don't Need a DLC to Get This Trophy
- Get 10 or more kills by the end of any multiplayer game.

- Win a multiplayer game.

I played Quake II a lot back then on Playstation, I'd gladly go back to it and play it again if it was released

One of these threads already exists...probably more than 2 or 3 to be honest, but I could only find the one. There's another thread devoted to making pretend trophies for games without trophy support.

Forgive me for not taking the time to look, that's my fault.

Quake HD would be boss; however, Quake II was the first of the Quake series I was introduced to so it has a stronger attachment.

And yes, I kind of compiled this list of trophies while replaying Quake II a few days ago. I made sure they were all accomplish-able, and scaled the trophy level based on how difficult it was for me to ascertain them.

My first large-scale competitive FPS was Quake, and god, that was so fun. MPlayer servers were always full, with plenty of clan battles.

Ive never played the original Quake's but I would just like to say well done on the trophy list, its quite good for just an on the spot thing

Wouldn't be bad at all...UT3 was fine. Besides, the majority of the people I played against only used the Lightning Gun in combination with the Pentagram of Protection and a large pool of water.
