A launch day fatty, it died January 2010, but considering the dust and ash levels in my small room, it lived longer than i expected, took better care of my Slim, which is now over three years old and running well ( i've doomed it now ).

    I'm currently on my 3rd

My 60Gb fatty system that i got in 2007 got the red screen of death in 2008. sent it to sony, was replaced with another 60Gb fatty system that then got the YLOD in 2011. I couldn't handle losing game saves all over again so i decided to just break down and get a slim model in 2012. I heard that they don't YLOD and have had alot less issues then the fatty systems. its less then a year old and currently has started freezing during games and even on the xmb at random times >_<

    i have no luck.

Originally had a 40gb, which I upgraded to a 60gb BC launch model (for an extra 20, thanks ebay!). After fairly heavy use, it sounded like a plane taking off in my room. So flogged it to my girlfriend's sister for a 100 (ha) before it died, but apparently it's still going strong...
Got a 320gb slim instead, and that makes about as much noise as a moth farting, so hopefully that wont be dying anytime soon, *touch wood*

and what makes you so special?

do you buy a new PS3 every month or something lol

trust me its unavoidable, no matter what you do to "prevent" it, it doesn't do shit, its just the luck of the draw.

Somewhere out there, there's someone made of money who really can buy a new PS3 every month.

Damn I wish I was as lucky as some of these other PS3 owners I had a fatty for almost exactly four years, took great care of it too. Then it literally bit the dust and quit working. Bought a shitty slim and have had that for less than a year. I wish they would stop decreasing the quality of the system, but I guess the PS4 is right around the corner soooooooo...

    But yeah, just one.

Shame you had that fail. Did your slim fail on you?
