    Game series....

What's the big deal about these games that people talk + love so much?

Sly Cooper Series, Ratchet + Clank, Crash Bandicoot?

I'm not a fan of having to play the game as an animal character.

I know i won't experience the game unless I play it, Just don't want to be disappointed.

Sorry for posting here but these section gets more visits than the game forums, So instead of posting this question Three times once for each game series I posted here instead, once again my apologies. Thanx

They are all designed for kids but are surprisingly addictive and fun

I find myself to enjoy playing as non-human characters more so than human characters. I don't really know why I do, I just do. Maybe it's because I'm used to playing as creatures in games I play since my earlier childhood.

There are some who are called "furries" who like animal characters in general. Me, I enjoy them, though they're not necessarily a selling point for me. But if I enjoyed the gameplay, I would happily play a game like that.

Because they're platformers. Platformers are fun. Being an animal has nothing to do with it, people don't play them because of that. (EDIT: Unless you count furries, but those are a minority and it doesn't make the game less enjoyable, it's not like the developers are furries or something)
But it also has an element of nostalgia to it. For example, when the PS1 came out Crash Bandicoot was one of the flagship games for the console and many kids started gaming with Crash, just like thousands did with Mario, Donkey Kong or Sonic (these last 2 are also animals).

I don't know, I really enjoy Crash, Spyro, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper, among others, because the core mechanics are simple, but the games have something to them that make them really enjoyable, be it little details and jokes or simply how well the levels are designed. For example, Ape Escape. Concept is simple, you need to catch monkeys. But then you realize that there are different paths to take and strategies to use, and the game gets more and more challenging. Plus it really innovated in how you use the controller.

Well, that's my opinion, I just love platformers. I seriously prefer a good platformer than something like Assassin's Creed or Mass Effect (not saying they're bad, they're fantastic games too).

Ac3 hit the nail right on the head. Most people like them cause they played them as kids, simple as that.

Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, and Crash Bandicoot are classic game series that most people grew up with. I grew up playing Crash(when he was silent character and his games were good ), and Spyro the Dragon. They're good game series for kids and old schoolers.
