PSN web store enables queue downloads upon PS3 startup

The web-based Sony Entertainment Network store has enabled automatic downloads of PlayStation 3 content. Items in your store queue will begin downloading once you turn on your console, either via Remote Play or a gentle caress of the power button. The process takes a few minutes to kick in after boot-up, according to PSN Stores.
Before this addition, games and other content purchased through the web store had to be manually retrieved from the PS3's download list.

Is this in effect now? I know the 360 has something like this as well but I could never get it to work. I'll see if this one works for me.

I might try this out. I remember reading about this like in January and that it was supposed to release in late-January or February. Whatever, I'm just glad it's now available.

Worked for me, I tried it last night. It's not an instant thing as soon as you turn on the PS3, took about 4 to 5 minutes, but it did work.

I'm not one, but isn't this potentially bad for Plus users? I know a lot of people grab the free content while it's available, but don't download it and use up their storage space until they're ready to play. This would automatically start downloading stuff when they turned the system on again, no?

That is a good point. I've done this on occasion.

Well that's pretty nifty. If I ever get a bunch of stuff from PSN at once, I can still turn my PS3 off overnight. I didn't like leaving it on for the update a few days ago EVEN though it said it would turn itself off. I love technology but it can't be 100% trusted to do the job IMO.

I read one guy had 133 rockband songs in his que and was made because he had 200 to download and it capped him so.. 133? I'm betting it's more of a file size vs a number of items size but that is just me.

It's the number of individual items, not the size overall. I expect the limit is actually somewhere between 10 and 25.
