there's no point in playing it again. go on youtube and look up the alternate scenes.

could say the same for almost every single game that involves choices.

Witcher 2 Is a game that doesn't do this and instead has a new things to do after the first playthrough (You can miss entire towns full of sidequests and missions due to a choice.) Not to mention it has fantastic writing, Has actual "Maturity", and makes you actually care/hate characters you meet. That's a Linear RPG with over 20 Endings.

Witcher 3 has 3 Main Endings with over 300 Ways the game's endings will vary. You have to give a player a reason to play through it again to get their moneys worth.

I personally think David Cage's games are basically play once, like it when your involved in it, but then when the whole thing is over your head goes "Wait, there's alot of terrible writing here". I might buy it for William Dafoe though.
Just stop, you're hurting my eyes!!

Every thread needs someone to post a counter-opinion, or it just turns into one giant circle jerk.

If there's any chance in hell that a developer, tester, PR agent or someone from the publishing team actually see this, I want them to know that some of us just don't care how great their intentions are with the title. Some of us (namely the ones called 'gamers') prefer a more dynamic experience instead of multiple scripted 'choices' they've conveniently fooled us into thinking we've made on our own.

I was just ribbing you initially but then i suppose what i said is just a counterpoint to what you wrote so the cycle continues.

So you don't like a certain styles of game, that's fine, i like all types of game genres just not all directions taken within each of them, i assume that is what you mean rather than the ' it was made by this person so i don't likey ' train some people like to get on ALL THE TIME.

There's no fooling going on just because i can enjoy a game with a story that's fixed to go in certain ways as much as an open world adventure or sports games where you can write your own, gameplay is number one priority overall of course and that is what provides the dynamic experience but a story helps the world become more engrossing when done right, obviously, everyone has different levels of involvement in narrative, if you don't care, you won't care.
Still, realistic or not, even Heavy Rain is escapism unless you go chasing after serial killers in Google glasses and being addicted to drugs in real life in which case i'd wonder why anyone would play games with that going on in their lives.

Actually, being made by the same developer/creative director is the number one reason why I have zero interest. But, if some other self-important developer comes along and tries to do the same thing, I will care just as little for their "game" as well.

Thankfully, I'm able to learn from my mistakes. I took a gamble on Heavy Rain, because pretty much everyone was giving it praise of biblical proportions. It was one of the worst gaming experiences of my life, and I shall not repeat it for any other game nor developer.

Fair enough, at least you gave it a chance, i'll disagree with your end opinion of the game personally, to call it one of the worst gaming experiences of your life strikes me as you being incredibly fortunate in not playing something worse, i think it's great yet i won't ignore it's silly accents, melodramatic moments and plot holes the size of a small country, from what i've read around the net, it's a real Marmite game. I hate Marmite but not Heavy Rain.

I was hoping for it to be longer than 10 hours. Never mind, I still think it will be a great game nevertheless.
