New Metal Gear Solid V details

    - Every character in MGSV has lost something.

This game is about that pain, that pain that they feel from losing, wether it’s a leg or an arm, or their voice or comrades. He also said that if you look at the trailer with that in mind, you start to notice some things that convey this theme: Skull Face losing his face, Quiet losing her voice. “And there’s some hints.” he added. “That’s why we have those little character descriptions there.”
    - 24 hours in Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain translate to six hours in real life.

There will be dynamic weather conditions within the game, that will change within the context of the game’s passage of time. As far as the passage of time within the game itself, it will be very realistic and believable, but it won’t necessarily be real time per se. It’s not going to match the real world exactly. Right now we’re still tweaking things, but roughly you could say that about six hours of game time equals 24 hours in the real world.
    - The online mode will work hand in hand with the singleplayer.

There’s a lot of interaction going on to make sure that the online portion works hand in hand with the singleplayer option.” KP podcast host Sean Eyestone explained. “And it really comes together as a nice, coherent whole.
    - CQC has been improved to make it more fluid and dynamic.

You can take it [their weapon] from them while in the middle of doing CQC. So the CQC is very dynamic. In past Metal Gears you’ve seen it happen during cutscenes. The Boss for example, will grab a weapon away from someone or Ocelot in MGS4 grabs a weapon away from somebody. Now you can do that. You can disarm someone and in the middle of your CQC combo use that weapon against the person you’re attacking. So it’s very dynamic, very fluid, has more options to it, so in the middle of your combo you can take your gun and clear out several enemies at once. Without having to stop, knock them out, pick up a weapon, that whole process. It’s much more fluid and dynamic.
    - Troy Baker will also be doing facial performance for Ocelot.

We were looking for somebody who could hit that right range. Someone who is between young Ocelot and older Ocelot. And he just has a cool quality to his voice. And in addition to the voice acting skills he has facial skills as well.
    - Every character starts with Shinkawa.

Does the 3D scan take the unique identity away from the character, as opposed to designed characters?

According to Kojima Productions, this is why not every character in the game will be 3D scanned. Some of the existing characters already had established looks. But even for the 3D scanned characters fans shouldn’t have to worry, Eyestone reassured. All of the characters start with Shinkawa, he is the one who comes up with the concepts. After that the actors are cast to look like his designs. There are some characters that have no equivalent in real life, such as Code Talker, who is over a 100 years old. They got help from special effects prosthetics make up artists to create him: his face is make up on the base of an actor. “Photorealism is important, but you should not sacrifice creativity in order to achieve that.
    - Ludvig Forssell will be composing the music of the game.

    - Metal Gear Solid V will interact with smart devices in some form (smart phones, tablets).

    - What you saw at E3 was targeted for current gen, so what you will get on current gen systems will be very close to that. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will look better than what you have seen.

    - The girl undergoing surgery is Paz (from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker). All the action in that scene is very realistic because they had an actual doctor during the motion capture session, who brought his medical kit. He was instructing the motion actors during this scene.

    - Bipedal mechs like the one shown in the trailer will be playable.

Sorry I forgot to include an important one:

    - Quiet will be the main heroine of the game

One of the new characters introduced in the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain E3 trailer, is a female sniper called Quiet.

Kojima intends to make Quiet the main heroine of the game, but he doesn’t want to reveal yet whether she will be friend or foe. She contrasts with all the ‘old timers’ that generally populate the Metal Gear universe.

Quiet is played by Stefanie Joosten (Kojima Productions said earlier that they used a full 3D scan to get her likeness into the game). Kojima said she is very skilled, but had to practice at home because she never used the type of gun that the character does in the game.

Kojima also added that during 3D capture they had to focus on facial and body language, and not on her voice, because Quiet is unable to speak (although she isn’t completely silent, and does make small sounds).

If the PS4 version is even better than what was shown at E3 then I might as well just wait till I get a PS4

Well the game (after Ground Zeroes) takes place in 1984, and Sniper Wolf was born in 1980, so it doesn't make sense that her or her mother is Quiet.

But yeah it'd be awesome to see little Sniper Wolf.

It really sounds interesting and immersive, not to mention very polished and... awesome. I just keep wondering how the eff it'll be able to run on current consoles.

I'm still skeptical about how much he'll fuck up the time-line this time, though. Then again, the story has always been far-fetched and the story-telling is full of bollocks, so as long as the gameplay is superb I'm fine.

About Volgin, it was actually him in the first Phantom Pain trailer, and among the new characters shown in the E3 trailer there were a group called Those Who Don't Exist, so maybe he'll appear in some form, but yes he is dead.

Well at the end Big Boss throws away the bandana since it reminded him of The Boss. He stopped looking to the past and started looking to the future and his new vision. It makes sense for him not to have it in MGS5. I'm pretty sure it'll be an unlockable for infinite ammo, if nothing else.
