    Do you miss cheat codes?

Do you remember back when online gameplay wasn't a must.
Do you remember back before they started adding trophies.
I used to play single player games over and over and never get bored.
I might have been just a kid, but the games had something awesome instore each time.
I remember I used to buy the cheat code books because my family didn't have internet.
I remember playing Grand Theft Auto and when it got too difficult, I would enter the cheat to bring my health and armor back up.
And even sometimes when I'm bored, I'll spawn a jet or tank and give myself 6 stars by just a simple combination of buttons.
To me, these cheat codes just added more flavor to what ever I was playing.
It wasn't considered cheating in my book. It was just having fun.

Now-a-days, cheat codes are not as common.

So my question is.. who misses them?
Or at least some of those moments.

    Please share
    It's just a flesh wound.

I miss them. There were so many funny cheat codes back in the NES/SNES that made one enjoy the hell out of a game much more. Then there's also those cheat codes that made games like Contra much more entertaining with a friend, afterall, you didn't need to cautious anymore, and you could just run and gun the shit out of the game with your 100 lives.

Cheat codes were fun to execute. I have Konami to blame for getting me hooked on cheats. I used more cheat codes on NES than any console I've owned. Now I don't care for them or use them.

I 2nd this. Cheat codes were fun to play with back in the day. Now, there's no such thing as a cheat code in any game. It's kinda sad. In-game cheat codes are not the same as inputting codes manually.

I loved them after I beat the single player of the game. I would use cheats all the time. I spent a lot of time on The Incredibles for ps2 using cheats and such as well as GTA San Andreas! Good time!

I still remember some of the button presses for GTA San Andreas cheat codes. I miss that.

Nah cheat codes not so much. I think without the crutch I have progressed a lot further in more games and become more skilled.

I do miss things like, local co-op, split screen, and platforming titles. I especially miss arcades, and meeting people there (one of my best friends I met while playing Dance Dance Revolution over 10 years ago).

Time changes, people get overly nostalgic, and stuff gets lost in the change. I don't feel that cheat codes, to me, are one of those things that I feel was "better."

only cheat I've used lately is the pedestrian war in Saints Row 2
