Trophies, no. However, some games require DLC content for platinum. (ie - Eye of Judgment)

    1. Turn on your PS3 and log in.
    2. Highlight your Trophy List.
    3. Press the triangle button to open the menu and choose the offline mode option.
    4. Now almost all of your ps3 game's trophies are separated into Core and DLC lists.

P.S. You never need DLC trophies to platinum a game, and they are always marked with a plus sign (even if they weren't partitioned for some reason (usually because there are only one or two)).

Fair enough some DLC is overpriced and selfishly already on the disc like Street Fighter X Tekken's extra characters but others are legitimately new pieces of data as you can tell by the difference in filesizes. Sometimes the DLC is useless, not fun or whatever but sometimes it is just as enjoyable or enhances the replay value of a game and to be fair this whole discussion isn't going to have anybody who is right or wrong.

To those complaining excessively though just be happy every game doesn't follow the Street Fighter route and just release an entirely new game with two or so characters and add the words "Super" "Ultimate" or the like in front of the original title.
    1. There are many pros to having locked on disc content.
    2. Your example falls flat because the SFXT DLC characters (while admittedly overpriced) were still in the testing phase at the time of release and as such were unfinished content until the game was appropriately patched and the content released as DLC.
    3. Almost all Pre-order content is locked on-disc content, especially before downloadable DLC expansions.
    4. The Street Fighter design team can only pitch what they want to do and work with what Capcom gives them. SF always rebalances the fighting mecanics and adds/changes features (often even adding to the story) in each new edition, so they are not the same game. Arcade and Ultra are DLC expansions of Super, and so sell retail at a lower price ($40) and as DLC at $15.
    5. Many other game companies employ these tactics.
