I used to love inverted (like flying a jet - you push forward to pull down and you pull backward to pull up). When I got ps3 tho, it was a matter of days to adjust fully (I bought it with no games, and each and every demo for a 3rd person action game / shooter had a non inverted camera)

well technically speaking inverted controls make more sense because when you tilt your neck up you look down and when you tilt your neck down you look up. I don't use inverted controls but I have seen many people use this as a big point in their argument

It all depends on the game for me personally. Some games I use inverted and others play normally.

Also, I just seen this video today and thought it was pretty funny.

I absolutely can not use inverted controls. I find myself turning my head and body if the "correct" direction if I use inverted controls. But I'm glad the option is there for those that like it.

I remember the first time I played Timesplitters and for that game "inverted" was the default setting. I had no idea at the time why it did that or how to change it so I just dealt with it. A few hours later and I was aiming just good as I ever had. If you just give it time you can get used to either setting. Eventually I figured out how to change it in the options so from then on I decided I would always go with "normal".

It really doesn't matter, no control scheme is better since the movement that is made is obviously the same either way.

It just depends on your perception of the movement your character or vehicle is making in a game. Like someone has already said before, technically you do tilt your head forward to look down at the ground and vice versa in real life. Me? My mind just doesn't work that way. In a game I have a very literal perception of what I'm seeing. I don't think of myself as controlling a person's head but rather a "space of vision"... if that makes any sense at all.

In the end, I think it's pointless arguing about what is an accurate simulation of movement in videogames. You're tilting a stick to move in a direction. In reality I don't hold my left foot out in front of me and start gliding across the room.

Hey, feel free to add me (Coconutz) on PSN!

actually, i dont know how anyone plays on the normal setting, the first thing i do is invert the controls, then i play. If you learn inverted, it works alot smoother for all FPS IMO

I don't understand how anybody can say one method is better than the other. It's all up to preference and what you're used to... it's simply remapping controls. The games don't give an advantage to one scheme.

I have been using Inverted Y-Axis since GTA:SA. I got so adjusted to it that it's hard to play with non-inverted controls. Both styles make sense. I just like to pretend that i'm grabbing the back of the character's head and pulling up/down (invert) versus the front of the head (regular). It's just a matter of preference. As long as there is a toggle for both preferences i'm happy.

I personally much prefer it to have inverted. BUT I only ever use it for the Y-axis. Up is down and down is up for me, but left is left and right is right. Guess I'm in the minority eh.

I hate inverted when it comes to FPS and Third Person Shooters. The only time I don't mind using inverted is when it comes to flying an aircraft like in Ace Combat games.

This was going to be my explanation of why I use inverted controls, always have done. A friend of mine uses the "normal" way and hates it when I leave it on and vice versa. Surely you lean back to look up and lean forward to look down.
